Course Curriculum Overview
The course duration is for years divided into eight semesters.Subjects of study include introduction to digital techniques, art appreciation, media & drawing exploration, color concepts, craft study & research methodology, fundamental of graphic design etc. The course curriculum focuses to develop the students artistic ability with the requisite computer skills so that they are able to translate their art into graphic design / drawing with a strong senses of knowledge and creativity.
Placement Experience
From the last few years SID has recorded a 90% placement record. Prominent companies such as Teach for India, TCS, Landmark, Mind tree, Make my trip, Think design, Deloitte, Reliance ltd, TATA etc visits are campus every year. The job positions offered was creative director, graphic artist, website designer, merchandiser and many more with the average starting package from 4 to 5 lpa. Internships were also offered to students in the field of online retail companies, advertising, corporate sector as well as private institutions. The stipend for the same starts from 10,000 per month.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The annual fees is 4,20,000 which includes academic fees, library & security deposit which are refundable. This fees structure needs to paid in two installments by NEFT, Demand draft or RTGS. The fees might increase up to 10% during the program which would also be impacted by taxes. The fees for me is a little bit expensive but if I look at the the career opportunities that the college provides us with are really amazing.
Campus Life
Workshops on material studies, industrial economics, visualization & conceptualization, introduction to interactive media etc are held every month. National seminar on visual identity design know as CHAAP is organised every year to mark the aspects of visual communication. Design exhibitions are often held where the students showcase their best portfolios and works which is later followed by a grand fashion show. Animeet event provides a wide platform to students so that they can interact with the industry professionals on topics such as gaming, VFX, 2D animation, experimental animation etc.
Hostel Facilities
There are three wings of hostel in which the E wing SID hostel is only for boys.The hostel rent for fresher student on a twin sharing basis is 1,14000 in A wing hostel which might differ according to the hostel chosen. Security deposit includes 15,000. Shuttle charges of 2500 also needs to be paid. The rooms are quite big and spacious. The mess food is also quite good. The charges for veg/non-veg menu is 64,500.
Admission
The student should have passed class 12th in any stream related to ( Arts, Science, Commerce, Humanities) etc with 50% marks. 40% for the students belonging to the reserved category. A candidate who has a diploma which is approved by the State Board of Technical Education are also eligible to apply. Other than that all the Indian students have to give SEED examination on the basis of which eligibility to admission is performed. The international students are handled by the SCIE center. Other rounds of interview, portfolio and group discussion will be conducted if you clear the cut off. Merit list will be prepared on these scores and you will be granted admission in the college.
Faculty
Most of the faculty members have 8+ years of experience in their relative field. The students are given insights on how to produce designs which are based on the client's brand image & consumer sensibility. Every topic is explained with utmost zeal so that we do not face any issues further in the course.Our standard skills are refined so that we became familiar with multi media and develop knowledge for various types of design techniques.
