Remarks

The application forms and minimum qualifying details are available on the SID official site. Stay tuned to this site for updates. Since I belong to the general category, I could not avail myself of any reservation benefits. I attempted the SEED exam online in February this year. The duration of the test was 1 hour. The exam process was not very difficult as we were provided with proper instructions and guidelines. After I cleared my first round of SEED, I prepared a model for the situation test which was again online and was discussed in the PRPI round along with my portfolio review and personal interview. I was very nervous before the interview but the interviewers were so friendly yet professional that helped me clear my interview confidently. The jury asked questions mainly about my situation test model, my portfolios, my aspirations as a designer, etc.Overall it was a great experience for me

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I found my calling in graphic design and I found SID's curriculum very interesting and promising to learn for my career. I'm in the foundation year and there are 2 to 3 highly qualified faculties in each division who bring along great years of experience and knowledge with them. This is also one of the main reasons I chose SID. The assignments in the foundation year are challenging but the faculties are very helpful. The classroom and the study environment are very creative, full of excitement and a place you will look up to going each day. The teachers keep sharing their experience and knowledge with us that inspires us and keeps us motivated. I've never had a dull moment in class. The only thing they are strict about is the submission deadlines.

Internships Opportunities

4

Companies like Adobe, and Amazon provide internship opportunities to students by giving them a task, interviewing them, and appointing them as interns if they get selected. The 3rd year students must do at least one internship during their summer break.

Placement Experience

4.5

Students become eligible for placements from 4th year. There is a list of companies providing placements available on the college website. Some of the major companies are, Infosys, Deloitte, Tommy Hilfiger, Buzzfactory, Onio Designs, Autoline, Book My Show, etc. Students also start their work as freelancers.

Fees and Financial Aid

The annual fee is 420000 which needs to be paid in two installments and can be increased up to 10 percent throughout the entire program. They provide various payment methods to choose from whichever is convenient.SID provides 3 types of scholarships: merit-based, Jayatee Deshmukh UG scholarship for a girl student, and Lila Poonawala scholarship.

Campus Life

5

SID conducts many annual fests like Fundamental Fest held in February, Chapp, Design Showcase, and Shilpkatha, an annual craft showcase where 3rd-year students research, promote, and study the varied crafts of India and display them. Artisans from different parts of India demonstrate and sell their work on campus. For sports, there is Symbhav and SIU Inter Institute Championship. There are 9 portfolios: Activities and Events, International relations, sports club, clubs and societies, PR and Promotions, student welfare, documentation team, dance, and music clubs. The 1st and 2nd years get to volunteer and 3rd years are the heads. I've gained a lot of experience and learned skills that I won't get to learn in a classroom by being a part of a portfolio.

Hostel Facilities

4

The registration process for a hostel is quite simple. All the guidelines are provided during the admission process. For me, the Hostel prices are a little expensive but considering the facilities they provide, it is worth it. There are individual beds, study tables, cupboards, and shelves available. The washrooms and bathrooms are very clean and are maintained that way by the room cleaners. Discipline is maintained in the hostel and there are certain rules and regulations that students living in the hostel need to follow. The rules are very strict. The food in the mess feels just like home. We get a variety of food every day with 4 meals. The locality is very safe and clean. It is very close to the airport.

Other Applied Colleges
