Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum began with us as beginners who knew next to nothing about law, but by the time the course finished, we knew everything well. The topics were crucial to an in-depth understanding of the field. Projects and mock trials only helped us more. Regular exams helped us keep track of our progress.
Placement Experience
The Institute provided summer and internships, in well-known firms such as BOSCO and Goonj, Tatva Legal, Trilegal, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, and The Hindu, ONGC, Titan. Some also got internships in international firms such as Schneider Electric. The placement scenario was similarly good, with Quislex, Karvy Fintech, Tatva Legal and Novojuris recruiting students. The Training and Placement cell not only connects us with these firms, but also helps us through workshops and seminars on interview planning and mock sessions.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Taking academic, hostel, mess and administrative costs all into consideration, the yearly cost for the 5-year degree comes out to be about 2.92 lakh rupees. It is a very high amount and studying at SLS was quite expensive.
Campus Life
There are a number of clubs for extracurricular activities - dance, drama, movie and music, along with the Cultural Troupe. There is also a Sports cell, and Moot Court Association, and a Literary and debate society.
Admission
The Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT) was the name of the entrance examination required for admission to SLS. I gave the test, and then applied to the BA LLB course. The application fee for the SLAT was about 1750 rupees, while applying for admission cost an additional 1000 rupees.
Faculty
The faculty members were quite helpful. They guided us through the subjects, and were there to help when we needed it. They challenged us to develop our skills and improve ourselves. Their experience and advice were both very helpful for us.
