Remarks
The college days were excellent, however the management was very two dimensional.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum was good however the the course constituted 90% theory and 10% practical, however in my opinion a course like engineering should be backed by concrete practical knowledge. Over the years there has been a lot of changes in methods and practices by the use of innovative and modern technology, however college had very old machinery and tools. Those tools a technologies are primitive if compared to the new technology.A gradual inclusion of new methodology would have been better.
Internships Opportunities
There was no internship programme available at the college during our graduation, however we used to go for summer training programmes at various institutions like Damodar Valley Corporation, Tea Estates, TAFE etc. There was no steepened offered, we paid for the expenses incurred during summer training.
Placement Experience
There was no campus placement at the college during our graduation tenure. Due to the turmoil between the office management and staff there were no efforts made for campus placements, hence all the students went in the market and grabbed their share of opportunity from the market.
College Events
There used to be a number of cultural events in the college, all the events in the college was sponsored by fund raising. Every year student committee was selected (from the third year batches), who were responsible for various cultural programs like UDGHOSH, MILAN, ALAIGIN etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure was very nominal and affordable. The fee structure included Fee - 35000 (per semester)Hostel Fee - 2000 (per month)Mess Fee - 1200 (per month)Misc - 10000 (per semester)
Fees and Financial Aid
No Scholarship program was available from college side. Being a Christian institution they provided fee concessions to christian minority students. The concession ranged between 10% to 50% on college fee and hostel and other fees were excluded.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors were very helpful, after our admission and a brief period of exhaustive introduction sessions with the seniors all became friends and helped a lot in our projects, studies etc.I did not come across any alumni.
Exam Structure
Examinations schedules used to be student friendly and were designed in a way that the students had ample time for recapitulation. Being a semester system exams were frequently conducted with smaller portions hence it was very easy for us to score in the exams.LAB facilities were inadequate hence practicals were limited to few subjects.
Faculty
The Faculty of the college was very knowledgeable and supportive. All the teaching staff was ready to help us even after the college hours. Though there was a shortage of modern facilities at the college, our professors always made a point to keep us updated with the modern technology, by giving us theoretical lectures on modern methods.
