SID - a design school experience!

This college was one of the few colleges that had the exact course I wanted, with good placement opportunities and connections. It's also reputed in the design and law field. The website was well informed and the most striking part was their intake process. It is a three tiered system with a general test being the first, which has questions about general knowledge, design, logical reasoning and basic math, science, english etc. Once you clear the first phase, you move on to the next phase, that is the prpi test. They give you a certain task which you must perform in a certain time window and submit. The admission exam start in the time of nov - oct there is one exam based on a course after that we get one task to do related to our stream and in the interview they will ask us question related to the course to see if we are actually eligible for this college or not. Since I belong to the general category, I could not avail myself of any reservation benefits. I attempted the SEED exam online in February this year. The duration of the test was 1 hour. The exam process was not very difficult as we were provided with proper instructions and guidelines. After I cleared my first round of SEED, I prepared a model for the situation test which was again online and was discussed in the PRPI round along with my portfolio review and personal interview. I was very nervous before the interview but the interviewers were so friendly yet professional that helped me clear my interview confidently. Due to the pandemic which began in 2020, the entire experience was based online. My first preference was to get into NIFT, but since I did not clear the exam I had to go with my second preference which was SID, Pune. I had also applied for UCEED exam and scored 1230 rank AIR. I did not go for it because I wanted fashion communication which was not available. I also cleared extrance exams of Srishti, MIT, WUD and I did not go for them. Srishti and MIT did not offer fashion communication. When I talked to few seniors they told me that SID Pune is better than WUD since WUD is a new college. I am from the general category. The admission criteria for my programme for all colleges is entrance test, situation test (offline) and personal intrview. Due to the pandemic all the colleges mostly had entrance test and personal interview/ portfolio review only.
