Course Curriculum Overview

My course is a full-time undergraduate degree for three years. The students got only 55 seats?ndergraduate education in modern political studies such as political history and political ideology. The exam pattern of this college is incredible.

Placement Experience

There is a placement and guidance cell to help college students find their future. The college gave their assignments to about 85 students. The cell also conducts awareness classes for students for better placement opportunities.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure of this course is INR 3,675, including tuition fees of INR 600, registration fee of INR 100, etc. The admission fees of INR 75 was to be paid at the time of the admission. I think fees are very feasible to me and they provide an excellent facility.

Campus Life

The college offers a variety of extracurricular activities for the enjoyment of students. Each department has special laboratory facilities for chemistry, physics, zoology, and botany. Students have the opportunity to participate in games and sports.

Admission

I have passed my (10 + 2) High School Senior Secondary Examination through CBSE or equivalent board and got admission into this college. My admission was based on merit after the college cut-off. After selection, I visited the college to submit some necessary documents.

Faculty

College faculty have been really helpful and have given us more knowledge on the subject while completing the course. Some teachers only passed out of this college, so they gave proper guidance to their subjects.

Likes

Campus and infrastructure are excellent.
Staff and facilities are very friendly and approachable
Good clinical exposure for students on every department

Dislikes

No stipend is provided on internship is the major drawback
Lack of permanent faculty in several department.
Prolonged posting hours without any stipend

The coming age scenario of ophthalmic diseases requires latest technologies and knowledgeful health care providers in the society.In this scenario Bsc Optometry graduates are required in the field of diagnosis, treatment, management of ophthalmic patients.

This college is not what it seems in the first look.

Likes

College was at a beautiful place. It was not a city but a beautiful place.
Hostel was great. I got many friends from there.
These are the only things that I can think of.

Dislikes

Teachers, they are horrible one one teacher named aparna was professional and ethical. My HOD was the worst.
Principal is the worst. She does not hear students side. She is money minded. I had a fee pending for not more than 2 week. When I went to her for signing my medical report she demanded that she will sign only after I paid that fee
The college does not encourage extra curricular activities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Faculties are good. Most them are very friendly
Class rooms and canteen are also good. Not the best
Fees are very low comparing to other collages

Dislikes

Not giving good placements. Only 1 or 2 good companies good. Others are average
I'm not interested hostel. But my friends in hostel always saying that the food is not good.
Some faculties are not treat all the students equal. Not every only some

Placement Experience:

Placement are not the best. But EY , federal bank, TCS are some the prominent companies that are coming. The negative thing about placement is most of them are offering marking jobs. So if you are someone who is interested in operations this is not the collage you want to in.

Likes

Decent infrastructure. hostel infrastructure is also clean and better than most colleges

Dislikes

Very poor campus life. No importance for cultural programmes and activities
Very poor and degrading environment for women. Faculties and other staff are very judgemental.
Very low packages for average students. Placement training is regularly being provided, but it is too hectic to be managed along with curriculum.

Placement Experience:

students become eligible for placements after sixth semester. Major companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, e.t.c are recruiters. about 5-10 students are recuited on average by these companies. highest package was offered by south indian bank in 2023 (10 LPA). average packges are around 2 to 3 LPA.

We have a very good faculty family that is not only supportive but also loving.

Placement Experience:

From the seventh semester we are eligible for the placements. They provide placement training sessions in the college itself. Computer Science department has almost hundred percent placements. Also there is mtech in the college if you prefer higher studies.

TIST , Great college , fun events and more

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

When it comes to the campus life, I enjoyed all the 4 years
The infrastructure was okayish Could've improved.
The faculty was really friendly and I was able to approach them without any hesitation.

Dislikes

The road from the junction to the college is not at all maintained. Students coming up the hill find it very difficult to reach college
The bus fees are increased every year. But these people can't find a way to provide seats for the students after paying their bus fee.
Some other campus offer many varieties of food in their canteen. This has to be done here too

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.

Yeah well, positive things are there. I got many friends. I got a degree. I learned much personal and professional knowledge. I also learned how to live independently for 4 years without parents alone somewhere.

I selected the college because this was 1st rank in KIRF and 26th rank in NIRF when i applied. Everything to Know about University College, Trivandrum

I chose this college because this is one of the oldest and most reputable institutions in Kerala. I have applied to numerous other colleges but this was my first preference. I have also applied for colleges under Delhi University. To be exact, the colleges I applied for were Miranda College, Delhi and Hindu College, Delhi. I then dropped the idea of getting into Delhi University because of the distance. I have approximately 3 days of travel from Kerala to Delhi by train. Besides, the cost of living was also found to be on the higher end when I researched about Delhi. So, I decided to go for a college that was within Kerala but was also good in terms of providing quality education. I got selected to Hindu College, Delhi but then I chose University College Trivandrum over it. The admission procedure to University College Trivandrum is completely merit based. In order to secure an admission, you should score at least 85 percentage and above in your 12th standard board exam. Any other extra curricular activities will be an added advantage for the admission. I had participated in state level science fair competition and was also a member of NSS unit of my school which both served as an added advantage for me. You can also get an easy admission into this college if you have secured any position in state level or national level sports competition. There aren't any eligibility entrance examinations to get into this particular college. My overall admission experience was satisfactory. The whole process would take somewhere around 1 to 3 weeks. If you are someone who is looking forward to get into this college, make sure you score really well in 12th standard board examination while also being and active participant in extra curricular activities of the school. NSS, NCC, various State level competitions and exceptional skills in sports can easily get you a seat in this college.
