"Life in the Shrine of Healing"

I'm happy to be a part of this college. Though it is expensive here, the college shapes the destiny of many in a beautiful way. It has good infrastructure and workforce that offers a immense scope of learning.

The course curriculum seems fine with a focus on the practical aspect and takes care of covering all due required subjects and offers a practical training session with hospital posting. Since the College is attached to the hospital, students are given sufficient training along with the doctors. Exams are often hectic, especially during the first year. There are a number of exams, class tests, practicals and so on.

We're provided with an internship after 4.5 years of our course for 1 year and the internship period is quite relaxed. We're given 3000 per month as stipend. Most often students are given job in Geetanjaly Hospital itself or else they could look for jobs in other government or private hospitals.

More emphasis is on academics. A lot of seminars and paper presentations are arranged by the college officials and it helps us a lot by widening our knowledge. But still events like Holi, Diwali are celebrated with due respect. Various celebrations are organised to make students relax a bit from the hectic schedule. Different competitions are organised to enhance the talent of students.

Since it's a private college, fee structure of Geetanjaly is high. Including hostel and mess fess, about 10 lakh is asked from a Bsc student. But placement and job opportunities awaiting the students could balance the fee.

There are scholarship facilities for those students who belong to the reservation category. After applying for the scholarship they're soon given sufficient offers. For those who belong to the general category, there's no particular provision.

A lot of workshops are organised by the college authorities. Many prominent personalities visit and deliver classes on subjects related to science thereby shaping the academic performance of students in a better way.

There's hostel facility for both girls and boys in the Institution. They provide everything sufficiently and we've a big room with study tables, bathroom, proper food, water and all other basic needs.

Alumni network of the college is not much commendable. Though we could get details about our seniors from the directory, it is of no use. But there are few seniors who are in contact with us and they teach us during exams makung the syllabus easier.

To serve the humanity towards a healthy future is the need of the hour and with this interest, I chose Bsc Cardiac Perfusion. Admission in Geetanjaly Medical College is thorough, it's strictly based on the marks one have obtained in his/her 10+2, in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Since there're limited number of seats, students with good marks were only allotted. There's also an interview with the selection committee of the college.

Due to lack of sufficient staff, the busy schedule of doctors at times affect the students. But still they're very helpful and supportive. They are always ready to help students in any way possible. The sincerity and dedication they show towards their profession has always been an inspiration for us.
