Central Institute of Tool Design - [CITD], Diploma course in Automation & Robotics Engineering (DARE)

Course Curriculum Overview

The course is designed practically, with the inclusion of professional level subjects and topics. After the graduation, the aim of this diploma course is to prepare us for a professional career in the field of robotics, and that is exactly how it is structured. Not just theoretical, but practical applications are included to provide a well-rounded experience.

Placement Experience

3.5

There are placements at the campus, although there is scope for significant improvements. Big companies like Hyundai, DRDL come to the campus, but most students get placed in smaller start-up companies. Internships aren't provided for this particular course.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The one-year diploma course costs about 75,000 rupees. This is a little high, considering that the course is only for a year. However, it is mostly feasible, with all the training and placements that we get while here.

Campus Life

There are different extra-curricular activities that the students participate in, from cultural to sporting. There are workshops help from time to time that aid us in our skill development. There are also short term courses provided by the college that we can do.

Admission

Admission to this course is through the results of the TSICET, which is an all-India entrance examination. The TSICET can be attempted if aggregate marks in graduation was at least 50%. I took admission here as it has a good reputation.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty members were very helpful towards students. They released the extent of topics we had to study considering the limited time in the course. They taught us and prepared us, keeping in mind that everything we'd learn here would be required when we work in the industries.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I felt that entire curriculum needs to be changed, since there are many useless subjects that are irrevalant to software engineering in CSE. I also felt subjects like c,c++, java needs to be replaced with python and web development subject should be replaced with something like nextjs. Initially I thought the syllabus and curriculum was good untill 3rd year of my Btech degree. The curriculum of jntuh is outdated in terms of real world. Teaching methods are ok though it needs minor improvements in some areas. The frequency of exams is same, you get semester exams and supply exams , you will have more chances to clear you backlogs, my advice is to clear backlogs in same year or try not getting any backlogs in engineering. timing of exams is usually after every 6 months out of which we usually have 180 or more working classes days. And in between we get sundays, holidays, events and other things. Semester exams are difficult especially subjects like mathematics or electronic subjects like ADE, which is irrelavant to CS.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The fact that this course provides you a very dignitorial position in society attracts me the most into it. The financial benefits are also quite impressive. The curriculum extending for 5.5 years provides you all the required knowledge to practice as a general doctor in the country. There is a total of 19 subjects for 4.5 years in total. 1 year rotatory internship in various clinical department in affiliated hospital gives you very good clinical exposure also. The internship here is stipended by ?26000-/- per month. Every year mcc is renewing the syllabus according to to demands of indian medical system. Frequency of exams are quite adjustable upto rth year. 4th year is quite hectic and tiring with syllabus.
