A great place for future

The curriculum is the same as the main branch of GIA in California. There isn't a huge stress on students. We can study and complete our tasks pretty easily and on time. The lab classes were conducted according to schedule, hence never putting extra burden on us. The exams aren't conducted very frequently, as the focus is more on the practical aspects, and also so that we can get much more time to prepare for them.

Since GIA is perhaps the best known institute in India for gemology, the job opportunities are immense, and after passing from here, one can get opportunities in a lot of sectors. Periodically, there were several placement camps conducted by popular companies in our campus exclusively for the gem and the jewellery industry.

The fees is quite expensive, naturally, considering that it is perhaps the only gemology institute in India. The current fee structure is almost ? 3 lakhs for 210 clock hours of study. Plus, separate charges for lab classes, professional development, seminars, workrooms etc. So, overall, yes, it's not something which can be afforded by a majority of families.

There are not many extracurricular activities conducted, especially in sports. But, that is because the focus is more on the course, and the proper delivery of the material to the students. There are workshops conducted from time to time, for the development of the students. There is a general acceptance towards every category, be it in terms of gender or ethnicity, or race or religion.

The admission process is quite simple. You have to send the required documents like identity proof, proof of educational qualifications etc. to the address mentioned on their website. Also, you must have required proficiency in English as the medium of instruction is English. I didn't have to give any interviews or exam for admission.

The faculty was pretty great and all the teachers were qualified according to their job roles. All the teachers were very helpful and friendly and guided us throughout the span of the course, which helped us to grasp our studies in a much better way.
