Course Curriculum Overview
The course is designed such that we have a deep understanding of the subject. The topics build from the basics to the more difficult parts of the syllabus in a gradual manner. Exams are regularly held to test our application of the topics learnt.
Placement Experience
The placement scenario is pretty good. A number of reputed firms such as AGNI, Abhishek Zaveri, Amore magazine, Blackberrys, Chitrakosh, Jute Cottage, Manyavar, Monte Carlo, Nykaa and Raymond recruit students from the Institute. Internships, however, are the students' own prerogative.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is a bit expensive, with the 4-year, 8-semester Bachelor of Fashion Technology course costing just over 11 lakh rupees. It is therefore not usually accessible for all sections of the society. They do provide good infrastructure and facilities, however.
Campus Life
There are regular workshops held on different topics to help in skill development where all the students are invited to register and participating. Cultural and sporting activities are held as well. There are also industry visits and field trips.
Admission
NIFT holds an entrance exam for admission into its undergraduate programmes. The questions asked are mostly analytical and reasoning questions, and some basic quantitative questions. I had wanted to study Fashion technology, and NIFT is the most reputed Institute in the country for that. I chose to take admission into the Jodhpur campus, as it is closer to home for me.
Faculty
The faculty members are experienced and they help nurture our creativity. They help us through the subjects, in understanding all the topics, and using our own imagination in the field. Their approach helps us find our own footing.
