Course Curriculum Overview
the course curriculum was comprehensive as it covers every core aspect of the public health domain and it provided hands on training on topic like epidemiology, environmental health, occupational health, reproductive and child health and family planninh, demography, research methodology and biostatistics etc.
Internships Opportunities
as a compulsory part of the curriculum we have 2 do 2 months of internship at place of our choice. i did mine in NIHFW new delhi where i learned complex survey analysis and health management. other opportunities were mandatory 15 days observership at NHM jaipur. other elective internships are also there on permission basis
Placement Experience
there is no such campus placements except one or two organizations recruiting via online interviews like NHSRC delhi etc, employbility include entry level to senior roles in public health domain. the percentage of students getting placed on campus is very low, we have to go for different walk in interviews after obtaining the degree. i suggest to apply for govt organizations first
Fees and Financial Aid
the fee structure of All India Institute of medical sciences Jodhpur for MPH course was 35000 rupees per semester therefore in totality of 1.4 lakh for 2 years. we got a 25000 INR stipend monthly, therefore total we got six lakhs for 2 years as our total stipend for the course. other reimbursements are also present if outside postings are given.
Campus Life
the annual fest AURA and the sports fest TEJAS is the most amazing experience i felt there with different celebrities peforming on campus, with different institutions joining for the fest. there is intra and inter institutes games. AURA typically held in feb or march and TEJAS in september or October. library provide free access to myloft, clinical key, grammerly etc, digital classrooms are available, TT club, music club and different activity based clubs are present
Hostel Facilities
one table, chair , almirah and single bed is provided with free hostel accomodation, and no restrictions on timings for PG students. the meal quality was decent but a bit spicy(views are personal). the registration process is very simple, we just have to ask the provost and asst provost of the hostel. the hostel is an abode of beautiful memories for us
Admission
i also applied for AIIMS Rishikesh and AIIMS Raipur for this course only and also to some private institutions like Manipal and amity. the major advantage of applying to this institution is to get the experience of govt healthcare sector as well as this institute provided free hostel accomodation and stipend which is not available at other institutions.
Faculty
the institute has state of the art faculty with immense experience of all the core concepts, they accompany us to our field visits to demonstrate the real life solutions of everyday public health problems, the course structure was 4 semesters of 6 months each at the end of each semester there is an exam, after the final semester their is an exit exam which is required to complete the degree. each semester is 50 marks each(except the final sem which is 100 marks) and exit exam is 125*2=250(for theroy), and 250 for practical.
Night Life
my favourite hangout spots was AIIMS canteen and worth mentioning the Nescafe coffee. the gym was absolutely amazing with very low joining fees of 1500 for 3 months with complementary swimming pool access. library was amazing with state of the art facilities like access to myloft, grammerly, clinical key etc, hostel was free and campus timings was from 9:30 am to 5 pm
