Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit - [SSUS] is a public university in Kerala. It has 9 regional centres. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Sanskrit and other languages, arts and science.

Course Curriculum Overview

There were two semesters in a year, thus we gave two final exams in a year. Projects also assessed our performance. The course curriculum allow us to have many practical sessions to refine our knowledge and skills.

Placement Experience

Studying psychology does a lot for us in terms of money. We could open our own consultancy firm, work as a consultant in big companies, or in hospitals, consulting patients. Campus placements and internships were not available in our college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The yearly fees of M.Sc. in Psychology came to around ?3,000, which is pretty good. It was feasible and much lesser than what a lot of other colleges charge. The fees included charges for using labs, library, etc.

Campus Life

Sports and physical fitness are necessary to keep a mind clear and sane. Extracurricular activities helped us enjoy our hobbies while syudying at campus. It also helped us bond with others who had the same interest.

Admission

Before I applied online for my Master's degree, I had already graduated with my degree in Psychology in a nearby college. I explored and this seemed like a nice university. I gave the entrance test, gave the interview and got admission here.

Faculty

The teachers are clearly very helpful. They truly earned our respect and love because they would always be there for us. They wanted to see us succeed, and it showed in their eyes and actions. They were highly qualified.

Placement Experience:

There is a good placement cell in RIT Kottayam. From the 6th semester onwards students got placement training and career guidance classes and there are various clubs to improve your aptitude and chances to get the job through placement. The major recruiters of the campus are Oracle, Microsoft, Allianz, MRF, IDBI Bank, Infosys IBM, TCS, VVDN, WIPRO, Suntec EXPERION etc. There is about 75 % of students get placed every year. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Remarks:

The hostel and college infrastructure are a little poor compared to other colleges but it is expected with the minimal fees given. There are a lot of festivals and programs and a healthy political atmosphere. The non violent conflicts between the two opposing parties lead to good development in the college.

Art life in ssus kaldy!

There are 5 major fine arts colleges. 3 under govt., and one under mg, and one under sankaracharya university. Rlv college thripunithara was the best coice for me considering the distance from my home but i didnt got in. Next in line was the college i am i now. I didn't got the chance to go to the exams for the other three colleges. Facilities are omet for me. Theres a lot of distraction considering its a university and all that.
