Remarks

The management was horrible, with senior retired citizen using it as post retirement perk. Their was no one to listen to student's grievances. We had to come together and do a strike.

Entrance Preview

Their was a entrance exam for the course. Their were no scores given only a merit list of people qualifying for further interview. The entrance was for the course so you already chose the course and college. Written was followed by an interview, which is basic and a group discussion.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The curriculum was excellent except for technical part of how TV signals work. The basic courses about understanding different aspect of mass communication were eye opening and liberating.

Internships Opportunities

No Stipend, one had to find internships on their own. Student's applied for internships in ad agencies, studios, and government institutions if they got a connection.

Placement Experience

0.5

No Placement in that particular year the film & TV industry was going through recession so many of us struggled. TV industry at that time was very unprofessional and their was very little regard for any qualifications.

College Events

0.5

No Events, except for a a an event students came together and organized calling media professionals to talk about issues around media and programming and media research.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It was 15000 a year, still higher then other PG courses as it was called a professional course. Though their was no facility to call it professional. We had to pay the fees annually.

Fees and Financial Aid

Not that I know of. There was a different fees structure for people coming from outside Maharashatra.

Campus Life

0.5

The university has a 2000 Acre campus and you can easily chill and spend your time amidst nature with some very beautiful garden. Their was no active sports or competition

Hostel Facilities

0.5

Hostel belonged to university and their were only few rooms available for the course. The hostel was basic with no facility, no management and no mess. Some students were living their for years.

Alumni/Alumna

Their was no alumni at that time, the college did not take any initiativea around that. In later years with many more mass com courses opening up in Pune, finally a alumni network has started, but they have never been able to reach me, so I guess college still does not support it.

Exam Structure

It was a semester system. Their was a great need for hands on experience and sine the institute had nothing of its own we had to depend on whims and fancy of EMRC. since then things have changed and now the department has moved into a bigger building with more faculty and equipments.

Faculty

2.5

The permanent faculty was horrible and boring and inefficient. The visiting faculty was excellent, most of them at least. They all knew their subjects and did not just lecture but offered experiences.
