A life changing experience

Its a superb institution to be at. If you have inclination to work for people then you must strive to get admission in TISS

National Eligibility Test for TISS. This test is specially designed for admission at different courses at different campuses of TISS.

The course curriculum was rigorous but student friendly. Very well designed course curriculum by the stalwarts of Education Sector in India belonging to organizations like Eklavya, Digantar and Vidya Bhawan. The assessment was based fully on the assignments and classroom participation. No examination at all.

I had Field attachment with the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai and Naandi. The experience was enriching and excellent. Very well facilitated by my guide Yamuna Sunny. No Stipend offered. I didn't ask for it.

All the students are placed well at different organization. Packages at par the sector standards. As this a blended course many people opting for this course were already working somewhere. Top schools and organizations in India prefer to work with the Tiss pass outs.

All cultural events including concerts of legendary artists, movie shows on a regular basis. Campus elections. Protests on social issues are the regular features.

The course is low cost. For general category candidates the course fee is between rupees 20000-25000 per semester including stay and food cost. For SC/ST candidates the course is almost free. They have to pay some rupees 3000 per semester which again can be exempted on case to case basis.

The loan facility is available. For SC/ST candidates the tuition fee is exempted and the course is almost free.

Superb experience of being in this campus. All social, intellectual, cultural, political and sports activities are organized. Zero tolerance for sexual harassment.

Reasonably good. The old campus building is classic and gives you a great feel to be in an old and reputed insitution.

The alumni network is good and the Tissians are holding good positions across the sector. So full support available from the Alumni. The Senior students are very supportive. The institute has evolved a great culture to support each other.

Once you pass out the eligibility test and get admission in TISS, you will not have to face any examination. All the assessments are based on assignments, presentations and classroom participation.
