Course Curriculum Overview

I saw the course curriculum before my admission itself and found it to be quite good. Since this was a bachelors course and I did not know what exactly to expect I showed the details to my parents who were quite happy with the structure. I have been here for an year now and the examinations are not too hard and you could do quite well if you study and pay attention to the classes.

Placement Experience

3.5

Even though I have not applied for placements or internships since I am currently in the first year, but many students who have passed out from the college are currently placed in well known hospitals and organizations.

College Events

4

We have some of the most amazing workshops here at Sri Guru Ram Das University of Health Sciences. I am looking for ward to many such workshops and also conferences in the coming years that I would be in the college. They are fun as well as a good place to gain knowledge.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The tuition fee for the course is Rs. 30 thousand per year. I also had to pay a registration fee of Rs.3500. The hostel fee for the college is Rs. 25000. The fee structure seemed to be quite feasible for the students since the facilities provided by the college was very good.

Campus Life

I have attended a few workshops in the first year and they were very good and educational. We also have sports arrangements done by the senior students as a part of extracurricular activities. We have a lot of fun during these events.

Alumni/Alumna

We have an alumni network in our college which is very good and helpful. We can meet our alumni in the some of the conferences that are arranged by the college. Even the senior students are very helpful.

Admission

Coming from a family of Anesthesiologist, studying Anesthesia technology was a common choice. I got to know about Sri Guru Ram Das University of Health Sciences from one of my relatives who lived in Surat itself. After much research and consulting with my parents I decided to apply here. I filled in the application form which was available online and traveled to Surat to sit for the examination and the interview which went by quite well.

Faculty

4

I have met some of the best faculties here at Sri Guru Ram Das University of Health Sciences. Not only do they have extensive knowledge about the course, but they are also very understanding about the problems of the students. Listening to them and reading their notes have helped me pass my examinations well in the first year.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

The college provides good opportunities to those who are good at academics and for those who are not good at academics chances for them to placement are very low. During the past year, there were very good companies shown in my college for my seniors, some were very renowned companies and the highest package was something 650000.
