Remarks

College management was a little bit lazy. I repeat again it is a government college. The only feather in the cap was the placement cell who worked their best to get each and every student placements.

Entrance Preview

I appeared for AIEEE. I dont remember the score exactly. But my AIR was around 11000. Though i have also secured an AIR 320 rank in VIT ( vellore institute of technology), but i opted for NIT JAMSHEDPUR, as the placement of NIT Jamshedpur was blooming at that time. I got an intel from my friend who was also my senior.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum for the first year was a bit hectic. But once we got our core branches we were a little bit relaxed. We were living in hostel and there was ample time for studying.

Internships Opportunities

I got internship in Reliance Energy Limited. In my days, getting stipend during internship was a rare event. I did not get any and i also dont remember that any one would have got it. But since the reputation of our college as a National Institute of Technology was good, students got internships in reputed companies. The only company to give paid internship was Tata Steel. This company is also a big and loyal recruiter.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placement opportunities are great. A lot of companies appeared in 2010. Initially the rate was low, due to global slowdown at that time. But in 7th semester a lot of companies and big names visited to our campus. Most of the students got double and triple placement offers. I also got two offers.

College Events

3.5

The main college event, that is the annual cultural event was Utkarsh. It was a 3 day event, and full of cultural activities. It also observed a decent participation. Students from inside as well as from outside participated in every events. Other events were tech fest like Pravah.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure at my time was not expensive. I am from 2006 -2010 batch. Per semester we had a fee of 7000. Which makes a 56000 for 4 years. It was nothing as compared to other colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid

The only scholarship given at my time was to the tribal children. Their was no such loan facility at our time, as the fee was very low compared to other institutions.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life was very happening. You have got everything, rooms, beds and all the things which you can expect in your hostel. People from various states come in NIT,S so you develop interpersonal skills from the day 1. Our college was also a regular organizer of big sports events like annual sports day and cricket tournaments. Basketballs, vollyball, cricket and badminton you can find students playing after the classes. Our college had a robotic society too and it had also won a number of competitions in national as well as in international events. Labs had ample equipment.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facilities were decent enough. Big rooms, wi-fi, sports complex and common rooms were there. Mess food for initial two years was not that much good. But for the last two years we enjoyed a somewhat good mess services. But still a lot of improvement is required.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni are now holding key positions in reputed companies. But if i compare their network with the alumni network of IIT,S and IIM,S, I can say its not upto the mark.

Exam Structure

There were 8 semesters. Each semester consisted of 2 semester exams. The first one was called a mid semester which usually happened in the middle of semester. The second was an end semester exam. It used to be happen at the end of the semester exam. Mid semester consists of 30 marks and End semester consists of 70 marks. Both theory and practical labs paper were a mixed in a particular semester. End semesters were in general more hectic than the mid semester exams as they consisted of whole syllabus. Practical exams were a bit of fun experience for all of us.

Faculty

3.5

Frankly speaking some faculties were very good. They were devoted for the welfare of the students and were very much regular. They were also very expert in their subject. But since it is a government college finally and their is a reservation system in our college. You can not expect each and every faculty at the same level. Same is true about students also.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

on every occasion they will charge the students, there is no good placement, every year they increase the exam fee, students are not regular its poor then government colleges just pay penalty and your attention will be full, its like correspondence course they are running huge but and regular power cuts unhealthy canteens, political motivated administration and management. There expenditure in infrastructure is huge which is best for love birds its like park or garden. Overall all not dedicated to education.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculise fully designed on national education policy 2020. Focuses more on extracurricular activities than core subjects. Because reply is designed on the basis of UGC guidelines which is a good thing for different competitive exams that are design by UGC. I will say semesters are to short that all till now my all four semesters has been glitter in about 4 months each that should be of duration of 6 months.
