Remarks
My college experience so far has been a very rewarding one and I cannot believe I have just one more year left! I have made close friends, taken tutelage under talented teachers and have benefited a lot from the several e-resources available to students.
Course Curriculum Overview
Other than the Economics major, we also have to study compulsory English and a second language of our choice- be it Assamese, Bengali or Hindi. The skill based courses taught are computers, Adobe Photoshop and desktop publishing.
Placement Experience
The college conducts a multitude of workshops and lectures regarding the career options we will have as Economics graduates. Though most people opt for M.A or MBA after this, there are a few who go for jobs and the institution wholeheartedly supports this.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure of all Bachelor of Arts courses are the same- you pay Rs 6,110 in the first year and Rs 5,897 each in the remaining years. This is all computed without including the hostel charges, which you will be informed about if you opt for it.
Campus Life
The lab facilities are brilliant and there are 4 types of lab in college- computer lab, language lab, science labs and psychology lab. There is also a Network Resource Centre, where you are free to use the internet and conduct any research of your choice.
Admission
I was ecstatic when I learned I had secured admission in the prestigious B.A Economics course at the Doomdooma College! It was close to home, it had a good reputation and didn't cost a bomb! The admission procedure is done on the basis of the merit list prepared by the college.
Faculty
The faculty are both qualified and enthusiastic when it comes to the lessons! Our HOP Ma'am, Dr Bidisha Mohanta has an M.A, M.Phil and Ph.D to her name. Yet she is grounded, and always on hand when a student needs her!
