The autonomous WII of the Indian government, provides various opportunities in the wildlife science and sets a benchmark to a global level. It's not an easy task to maintain the reputation every year and being a place to top the list. Even the foreign students eagerly await to enhance their learning over here.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course covers the activities like orientation tour, high altitude technique tours, management tour, management term paper exercise, management plan exercise, etc in a duration of 10months. The highlight of this course is an overseas tour is also arranged as a part of the management tour by WII. Those who score above 75% will be awarded Honors Diploma and those who score above 50% will be awarded Diploma. Others will be awarded a certificate of attendance.
Placement Experience
The placement opportunities are mostly of like a big project works, research works,etc and an opportunity to be a part of that. The WII will also support you and your big projects in wildlife science.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees for the PG Diploma program will be around 10 lakhs. This is because the program includes a lot of travelling and trekking. The fees covers the overseas tour package too. So, the fees doesn't look so cosy for such a valuable program.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, the institute offers scholarship to the students based on their merit marks. The scholarship is awarded in the form of fee waiver every month. This will be highly useful to the students. Some course students receive monthly stipends too.
Campus Life
There are various labs to carry different project works. The main departments functioning as separate cells are the animal ecology, wildlife management, ecodevelopment planning, habitat ecology, landscape level planning, population management, rehabilitation, capture, etc. They operate as separate wings.
Hostel Facilities
There are hostel rooms for accommodation. The rooms are provided with both single and double sharing facilities. Other than this, we have a carom room, table tennis room, common room with TV, a lounge and also the facility of making STD/ISD calls at the new hostel.
Alumni/Alumna
The institute has a separate page for the process of finding the old students. They hold data of the alumni and help us to reach up to them easily for any help. The alumni treat the students like a family member and guide us to the successful career.
Admission
The application for the PG Diploma course in wildlife science is available in the official website of WII. It can be viewed only when they post notification regarding that program. The main eligibility is that the person should have a completed a UG degree in life science stream and a training from forestry background.
Faculty
The institute has highly skilled faculties. All of them take big steps to explore new things and do great project works. Their teaching is what they have experienced in this field of wildlife science. You can become a part of the lot of different minds.
