Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is very good. I made transition from science to humanities so it was difficult till the first semester but I learnt a lot. There are internal assessment and projects with marks for attendance as well.

Placement Experience

It's the major drawback of the college. There are no on campus recruitment of the students by visiting companies. We ourselves register at different internship providing platforms like intershala for getting internships.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure for the programme is very much feasible. One couldn't have asked for more. Per year fee is around Rs 3,000 which is so not expensive. For a duration of three year of the course such a fee structure is so good.

Campus Life

The college organise many talks. There are several seminars and conferences. Also, cultural events are organised at the campus. We celebrate various festivals with great enthusiasm. Sports facilities are available too.

Admission

Admission to the college can be in two ways either merit based or exam based. Cut off is released by the college which decides admission to the college if you are applying on merit. Application process is all online.

The teachers are very dedicated. They help students in need and are very friendly. They are very lenient and provide us with materials, documents and other references for our projects and also give sufficient time for submission.

Reality of IIT KGP

Placements depends on your skills Usually there is a compulsory internship at the end of 3rd year If you didnt get it via college you should do it from outside but its compulsory And at the end of 4th year you get placement. Placemeng isnt 100% . If you have the skill you will get placed thats the criteria.many people say you are in IIT your life is sorted .but that aint the reality

Placement Experience:

The students can apply for internship via Career Development Centre in the beginning of their pre final Year. they can go for off campus intern whenever they want. Most of the goo companies would come and mostly for software finance consulting etc. The placements start in the second last semester as far as i know. The competition for placement is getting really high these days

Completely relevant. As the college is autonomous it has its own syllabus. Which matches with the net gate jam exam syllabus. When someone came our college for seminar they strange that we know this much. Exam are quite difficult in 2 months interval.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The university is MAKAUT so the curriculum is up to the mark. I liked Programming so I chose B.TECH in CSE. The curriculum is very basic in terms of practical world problem though they are building blocks, but you need to do the extra bit of work to qualify for the real world scenarios. I think more mandatory projects integrated with current set of skills would be a cherry on top. Exams are very frequent like every 3-4 months there is a semester exam and they are moderately difficult.

Remarks:

Placement for IT streams is very good but not good for the core stream. Infrastructure and campus beauty are very good. Faculty are average. Canteens are slightly costly but foods are ok. Hostel and Transport facilities are available.
