Remarks
The Mayo Institute of Medical Sciences is a nice place to study if some factors are kept aside like the fees. However, when compared with the education and infrastructure facilities, it seems reasonable as finally when student graduates, he/she gets a good job due to varied and good education at the institute.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum used to be so complex in the fresher year as we had no idea regarding the course and program structure. With the help of teachers w got to know the detailed aspect of subjects like anatomy, ophthalmology, physiology, and biochemistry. The semesters were divided into 6-semester final exams and internal exams of each subject at the institute. There was a one-year mandatory internship included in the course.
Placement Experience
At the Mayo Institute, there are job opportunities in the Mayo institute of medical science itself due to scarcity of the doctors at the hospital. The stipend is less but the fresher? graduates have to do a one-year compulsory internship at the medical science hospital and if hired permanently, they are paid well for a full-time job.
College Events
The institute celebrates events like independence day, Saraswati puja, and several facilitation programs including the yearly alumni meet. Also, there is a college fest for the students of the college as well as the students of other colleges and universities. All of them gather at the college's playground and enjoy musical nights.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Much expensive. The students at Mayo Institute of Medical Sciences pay a total of 53,35,000 for the whole course while in parts they pay 10,67,000 yearly. Also, there are provisions of paying the yearly fees in parts according to the economic background.
Fees and Financial Aid
As per my knowledge, there are no options of scholarship at the institute but students generally avail of bank loans for the payment of their fees through several national and co-operative banks. It is heard that the student loan is easily obtained and sanctioned from the bank with some necessary documents.
Campus Life
Students to enjoy their leisure time visit the gymnasium, sports center, and auditorium for some refreshment from the academic curriculum. Also, there are workshops organized at the hospital for several awareness programs. There are some free health check-ups and blood donation camps at certain of the year.
Hostel Facilities
Yes. The institute provides hostel facilities and several other facilities like a clean room, good food at the mess, clean water, and twenty-four-hour electricity for 10,000 per month. There are two buildings for boys hostel while two separate buildings for girls hostel.
Admission
The admission eligibility at Mayo Institute of Medical Sciences is of Higher secondary education of B.Sc. degree and the entrance exam of PG-NEET is mandatory for the MBBS course. Thereafter clearing the exam, I applied to the program offline with my academic documents and the application form filling. The merit rounds are listed and my name appeared on the second one so I was called for counseling and fees payment.
Faculty
The faculty at Mayo Institute of Medical Sciences was much qualified to teach the students extensively on a particular topic. They focused on the practical ad research part more when compare dot the theoretical part. For some elective courses, the institute arranged special faculties, and also the department head came to take lectures on special topics for elective subjects.
