Ronak Khemchandani's Review On Jabalpur Engineering College - [JEC], Jabalpur

I appeared for IIT-JEE, AIEEE as well as MP-PET. I didnt perform satisfactorily good in IIT and AIEEE but fetched 111 in MP-PET out of 200. JEC has been one of the most reputed colleges of M.P hence there was no problem opting for this.

Being an autonomous college, the curriculum has been recently updated than that of the central university of M.P (RGPV). Covers all the basic subjects a student must know while pursuing a particular field.

No Internship opportunities at all from the college side. Students have to search for Internships from other sources like Internshala.com and get the internships. Proper duration of about 50 days provided by the college for internships during summers.

One of the best aspect of this college.Ive recently been placed in 5 companies. About 85-90% students grab atleast one uniwue offer.The companies that visited my college this year wereInfosys, TCS, Wipro, IBM, Tech Mahindra, Capegemini, Tata Technologies, Persistent Systems.The average package offered to all students ranged from 3.15 lpa to 3.6 lpa.

Hardly any events are concluded in our college. Out of my 4 years at this college only 2 cultural fests have been held when i was in first year and second year .No cultural or technical fest has been carried out from the past 2 years.

Another very good aspect of the college.Being a government college, the fees is very low. For general category students, approx 25000 per year, and a no. of scholarships and facilities provided for students belonging to different catgories.

Being a CBSE student i had availed Central sctor scholarship scheme. But yes there are several scholarships and offers for all students and students do avail these facilites with ease.

The exam structure is good.There is not much pressure due to the exams. Couple of mid terms followed by the end semester exams in a span of 6 months is totally managable.

Good, but not the best. Yes, the limited faculty available in the college is of high standard but there is a real scarcity of other experienced faculty. Even the newspaper reports claims shortage of about 50% of the required posts.The guest faculty recruited for the compensation lacks experience and domain expertise.
