Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum intrigued my dad and me when we were looking for a decent college. My subjects were Sanskrit, Bengali and Physical Education. The course comprised of these 3 subjects which were taught in a meticulous manner.
Placement Experience
A lot of leading newspapers had turned up for the placements for careers in journalism and mass communication. A few of my friends took up the role as content developer in the leading city newspaper. A very close friend of mine took up the role as a teacher in a school nearby which too had decent pay scale.
Fee Structure And Facilities
I still remember that the annual fees was Rs 1630 when I had joined. It was one of the best colleges in terms of fees as it was minimal in those times. It is feasible for all with a modest fee plan which needed to be met annually.
Campus Life
Our college was and still is the best in the extracurricular activities. We used to ace all the contests that we used to take part in especially sports. Our team were the best due to the facilities provided by the college which included a ground, badminton court, along with the annual sports events and functions. We had students from all races, sexual orientation and strict laws were in place to stop ragging in the campus.
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors were our go-to pals and they encouraged in all our endeavors. The alumni network is still going strong with annual meets to socialize and relive our college days. Through our alumni network, a lot of companies have been taken on board by the placements committee.
Admission
I was given provisional admission on the basis of a merit list published soon after my 10+2 results. My overall grasp in Sanskrit led me to score brilliant marks in my previous examinations and was thus offered to study B.A. General with Sanskrit which had an intake capacity of 100.
Faculty
In those times, Mr. Manik Mondal used to be our Guest Lecturer for Sanskrit. He had a good taste in humour and thus all the students used to look upto his classes. Our faculties from Physical Education and Bengali were noteworthy too. The faculty used assign tasks and responsibilities to various students based on his/her skills and abilities. They had set an environment of fun and frolic which is essential for the modern education system.
