Course Curriculum Overview
The syllabus is as set by the Medical Council of India and our faculty has been instrumental in imparting the course curriculum in a fun way. The course is not research based, rather more practical based, to prep you for your future in medicine.
Placement Experience
The college is a government funded one and in this case, we are paid handsomely for the internship- a full Rs 20,000 per month. Barring this, because of the quality of education imparted, it is not very difficult to bag good positions at hospitals across the country!
College Events
A number of events are celebrated in college- some cultural, some technical. We recently hosted the WISSENDURST meet in our college, which is an Inter-college Academic and Research meet for MBBS students, where we are exposed to lecturers of different domains in medicine.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees for ESIC Medical College is quite pricey, as it requires you to pay Rs 1,18,000 every year, even if you take admission in the college via NEET. The course is of 5 years and 6 months and the total amount paid to college stands at Rs 5,90,000.
Campus Life
We have several provisions made to us for co-curricular activities. We have a common room, a library and quite a few clubs in which you can participate. Women Empowerment is taken very seriously in the college and we recently celebrated World Breastfeeding Week.
Admission
I got admission in this college via NEET, which has been the only mode of entrance exam since 2017. I particularly opted for this college because it has a good reputation, is close to home, and also allows you to complete a year as house surgeons also.
Faculty
The faculty are all doctors with postgraduate degrees in either clinical or surgical fields. Because of their vast experience, we have been able to learn analytical diagnosis of patients very well. They will make sure the lectures are imprinted in your brain.
