Remarks
Great college, always a student run college until recently where the professors have taken charge of placement committee. Not sure how that is faring, although the recent placements has been good. Management not that great though, liking for the college will not be immediate but it will grow on you.
Entrance Preview
CAT - 92 pc. No other options to choose from. The interview had a GD/PI. The selection process was fair with weightage given to work experience/ GD/PI/CAT score/ Academics/ Overall performance etc.
Course Curriculum Overview
The first year was general with no electives which covers Finance/ Marketing/ Operations/HR & Systems at a basic level. This gave us an overall picture of how business works in entirety. The second year was the specialization with a Major ( Marketing/ Finance etc.) and the remaining electives can be chosen based on our interests. Our course is designed for a General MBA which is unique in itself for a management career.
Internships Opportunities
3 months between the first and second year, the average stipend was around 25k. The companies from all sectors had come like TVS, SBI, ASIAN PAINTS etc.
Placement Experience
117, 115 were placed, average of 8 LPA was the offer with the highest of 15 LPA. Companies were - Asian Paints, TATA Motors, Murugappa Group, Crisil, SBI Caps, HDFC Life, Wipro Consumer Care, Cavin Kare, ICRA, Infosys, TCS, Accenture Consulting, i3 Consulting, IMACS.
College Events
Atheaneum - National level management paper presentation competition, the participation is generally good.Crescita - Industry, Alumni, Student interaction festival, very great experience with greater participation.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The least. My college has the lowest and almost vouch to say you get the best ROI. My entire MBA course costed 6 lacs. Now they have increased to 8 lacs for the entire course, this includes all fees ( Tuition / Hostel / Food etc,.)
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
Just educational loans from banks I am aware of. Not sure of existence of scholarships if any. Not sure how to write 100 characters for details I don't have. Very sorry for not being of help here.
Campus Life
Gender ratios is healthy with anywhere between 30-40%, there are club activities right throughout the year which keeps you active and interested. Tolerance is fully there and no violence etc,. It is good place although a little conservative, parties still do exist though. It is mostly student run so it is all upto the batch's creativity and negotiation skills.
Hostel Facilities
Student run Mess, the best food, but north Indians might have less variety but there is no point in not trying out south Indian food, not sure how it is now. The facilities definitely meet quality standards for hygiene. The hostel rooms are unique as it is BHEL staff quarters, so it looks like a home. Not gaudy but a pleasant stay. Nice outdoor activities with a lot of space for the same.
Alumni/Alumna
Great alumni network, who help you reach out to them and there is buddy system with your senior batch which will support you through your first year and get yourself equipped to handle overall aspects in the college.
Exam Structure
Trimester pattern - 60% internals & 40% externals, exams one word hectic but still papers sometimes are chilled out that you can enjoy and vice versa.
Faculty
Outstanding, if we had complaints we had the liberty to provide feedback to the management to change faculty if they are not effective in their area of specialization.
