Remarks

While the college aims at imparting quality education, the effectiveness of their efforts are questionable with the inadequacy of proper infrastructure and laboratories. Establishing was maybe a hasty decision without giving much forethought.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

Curriculum is fairly average. There is a final exam for 100 marks in each semester for the 6 subjects. The amount of research in choosing the curriculum is debatable.Rest assured it alone won't make you a professional by any means Since a major part of the curriculum is not practical oriented concepts are difficult to stick.

Placement Experience

1.5

A few final year students have been placed but are yet to join. No major companies have visited for placement. This is the first batch to pass out of the college so future placement scopes are only a guess right now

College Events

1.5

The college was about to hold its maiden technical and cultural fest this year but now it's indefinitely postponed. Annual cultural festivals of the region are celebrated among the students and staff. Celebrities are fun filled and involving every one.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's feasible for merit students at 35000-40000.Others have to pay about 60000 a year Payment can be done through a bank , directly paying to the office by cash or by a student loan The college is very transparent in the fee breakdown. There are no donations or such payments to be made to get an admission.

Fees and Financial Aid

I've not opted for an educational loan or have a scholarship. The college offers scholarship to students with good keam ranks.

Campus Life

1.5

Campus like is more like school life. There is not much of a campus or ground. A few workshops are held from time to time. Gender ratio vaires with different streams. it's like 50 to 1 in mechanical,1:1 in civil ,2:1 in electrical. Politics is mainly left ideology based. Most students are from Trivandrum with a few from other parts of kerala.

Hostel Facilities

1

No.There is no hostel facility within the campus. The boys stay in a rented house while the girls stay in a working women's hostel about 3 km away. Average cost per person is about 2500 a month for hostel and mess fees.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students are friendly and helpful. The college was established in 2016 so there is only a single batch of seniors before me

Admission

Through keam entrance examination. I joined in the month of July 2017. Admission is either directly through keam and the successive college allocation.or through NRI quota which does not require keam. Getting a seat is fairly easy because of very little competition.

Faculty

2

Majority of faculty are indifferent. Teaching is mostly work based than passion based. Average age is about 30-35. God level of Expertise on the subjects is questionable. Most are mtech graduates while the HOD's have a PhD in their respective fields.

Placement Experience:

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.
