Remarks

Excellent faculty & authority. Quite compassionate & flexible when it comes to dealing issues of students.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course Curriculum is partly case study based and partly research driven. Curriculum holds much relevance in the dynamic industrial world & customized to cater to the immediate industry needs. There is a mandatory 2-month on-site summer internship as a part of course which happens just after completing 1st year, the placement/selection of which happens just after 3 months of joining the institute. Such is the rigor & industry oriented structure of the course. Most of the students in the batch get pre-placement offers. Moreover, due to the strong alumni connect, students get plethora of opportunities to work on live short-term projects in top companies. Grading is fair, mostly it is relative.

Placement Experience

5

All the top notch companies visit the campus, 200+ companies visit the campus with median pay package of INR 24 LPA. 100% of students get placed. Historically, no student has been unplaced from the institution. Please visit the institute webpage for list of companies. Placement committee, seniors and other forums/committees have well defined structure for prepping students for placements. Super rigorous training is imparted in the first 2 months towards the summer placement which happens after module 1 (as informed earlier).

College Events

5

Institute conducts supply chain tests, national level cultural fests which are facilitated by the student communities / forums. There is a student body/community/forum for every discipline you can think of - starting from placement committee to cultural committee, from entrepreneurship to social work, every student is a part of one community. Apart from this, top companies in India open national level case study competitions in NITIE, and every year NITIE emerges as winner in multiple case study competitions. Winners get the opportunity to sit for direct interviews apart from getting cash prizes & attractive CV point.

Fee Structure And Facilities

In 2015, the fee was around INR 6 LPA for PGDIE course with government paying INR 12400 per month to every PGDIE student as everyone is GATE qualified. Fee structure is very transparent & one-time non-refundable INR 1000 has to be paid during application for any course. There are multiple mode of payments ranging from Demand Draft to online, and the institute has a robust/flexible system to accommodate the recent technological developments.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers scholarship opportunity basis yearly family income - scholarship sum is around INR 1.1 lakhs which is waived off from the total tuition fee. Moreover, the government pays INR 12400 monthly as a PGDIE student is GATE qualified. SBI has listed NITIE in list A bracket & one can avail education loan easily without furnishing collaterals, only a guarantor is needed.

Campus Life

4

Gender ratio - 1 female against every 6 males. Campus life is the best, the campus hosts a pond with plenty of greenery apart from a well equiped gym, library, sports facilities among other things. Also, there is a national park adjacent to the campus - which further substantiates the beauty of the campus. One visit is enough to make you fall in love with the campus.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Yes, the course is residential. Hostel facility is top notch with double occupancy rooms. Daily housekeeping is done to maintain hygiene. Male hostel has 16 floors & female hostel has around 4 floors.

Alumni/Alumna

Superb alumni connect that bolsters students to bag both - best jobs in country as well as getting the opportunity to work on real time live projects in top-notch companies.

Admission

Wrote GATE & used the score for clearing initial screening process for taking admission in the 2-year flagship programme, PGDIE. Post selection basis GATE score (institute revises cut-off every year), received call for group discussion & interview. Institute releases merit list in 2 weeks. One needs to be an engineer to apply to NITIE. PGDIE course is the flagship programme of NITIE & 2015-2017 batch was the 45th batch. This techno-managerial course focuses mainly on Supply Chain & Operations, and prepares one to take on real world challenges effectively & efficiently. This course is renowned among industries & the ROI (ratio of median placement package to investment) is the second highest in India (highest being FMS, Delhi). The strong alumni connect coupled with industry focused curriculum helps students to bag the best jobs in the country.

Faculty

4.5

Faculties are top-notch. Most of them offer consultancy services to the top notch organisations. The 2 year course spreads across 8 modules, each of which lasts for 3 months. Exam patterns are non-uniform & mostly depends on faculty. Some are open book, some are purely case study based, and others may be closed book basis defined curriculum. Hierarchy- Assistant Prof > Associate Prof > Prof Some of the profs are industry veterans who deliver lectures basis their experience. 90% of faculties have post doc degrees, avg age hovers around 40-50 years.

The placement opportunity is great, but you have to maintain a good grade with zero backlogs. The campus placement cell offers multiple opportunities, but mostly students from the Engineering department got the highest LPA rather than other specialisations.

Placements are good, during our batch it was pretty low because of the recession and other economic parameters. In MBA mostly the companies come for marketing jobs so mostly the jobs offered was sales, but as the college has became university i think every process has been changed and could result in good placement.

Remarks:

College is almost good .this for those who want only masters but no placement .if you also want to get placed in any company need only degree ur welcome. The management is worst the nonteaching staff doesn't know how to talk with students especially the admission office. I here declare whatever I have seen and suffered I presented my view about this college to you, not it's your choice to go to heaven like symbiosis or choose hell. I was misguided and helpless so I came here means I got fewer marks in a snap so please students appear for snap sincerely.
