Remarks

College Management stood for the interest of the students and faculty members of the College. They were very keen in taking care of our each and every demand. The College comes under the control of Nair Service Society (NSS)

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course consisted of English Paper, a paper on second language Hindi, Economics main papers, a paper on Quantitative Techniques, Political Science and History, Curriculum didn't seem to be research oriented. But it someway suited to the requirements to be a professional.

Placement Experience

2

That time, Companies didn't show much interest in visiting Arts and Science Colleges for campus selection. We had to knock the door of companies for placement. College that time had to separate recruitment cell. Most of the students would join professional courses after the College studies. I had to go for BEd course to get placement.

College Events

4

College was famous cultural and and management festivals. Many students used to participate in these festivals. Economics and Commerce departments used to conduct food festivals every year. Apart from this, every year the College Union would organize different type of festivals in which they would call celebrities to make special addresses.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It was really feasible. In fact, the College being an aided college fully funded by the Government, it didn't collect much fees from the students except tuition fee of nominal amount and exams fees. At the time of admission, a nominal admission fee had to be paid.

Fees and Financial Aid

College and government had scholarship schemes that time for eligible students. Marks and Income level were the important critieria.

Campus Life

3

Most of the students were girls. Approximately, 70 percent were girls. Students from all religion, region and caste were there in the College. Political participation of the students were remarkable in those days. Union elections used to be held entirely on political bases.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

My house was jut an hour away from the College. My classmates were staying in hostels. They had good facilities in College hostels. They used to get food of standard quality at nominal rates. Hostel wardens were friendly towards them.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni was active in those days. We had interaction with the members of alumni. Many students used to get placement on account of their connection with the Alumni members

Admission

I chose Economics at it offers a mixture of skills like analytical skills, numerical skills, descriptive skills, reasoning ability and the like. I think no other course offers this much skill package. More over, Economics is a science of human interaction which deserves much attention. As the economies were opening in those days, I thought it would be the course of the time ahead. As I belonged to a middle class family, I couldn't afford to go far away places to joint other institutions. NSS College, Pandalam is just half an hour away from home. Moreover, my family members got educated from here. We have such bondage with this College.

Faculty

3.5

Eight lecturers were there in the department. Their age averaged around 45, and all of them were post graduates. They were good i handling classes and had good and deep knowledge in the subject. We had a project work in the last year which helped us in getting connected with the industries.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In my opinion my course MA History is very very traditional. As a student who learn this could only became a Lecture by the syllabus and curriculum. But the improvement in archealogy related pracrical sessions and multi-subject learning by blending it with more geography and politics could make the course more effective and also job securing.

they do offer placements for both ug and pg. But For Pg Structured palcements are limited. For Pg students, especially in commerce and management placement oppartunites are offered. Companies like Federal Bank, Deloitte mostly offered. Since we had no placements, iam focusing currently on content creation and writing, actively working with online media due to my creative interest.

I got to know more about the rules and regulations, and functionality of my country during the course. the course teaches the structure of Indian democracy, its functions etc. It digs deep into politics of the country making sure that when students graduate they have enough info to face reality with politics for india. we learned about constitutions and structure of many major countries. Exams were conducted not according to the rest of the students for us. we had late exams and hence late results and late graduation. difficulty level of exams if you study well enough you can crack it. its theory based degree

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is good. At some points, it needs revision. The subjects feel ancient. The teaching also need to be improved. The typical lecture method is very unhelpful. Instead they should introduce digital learning. Also the course lacks in-hand experience on the subject. Rather than the robotic manual learning there's no activity involved

Course curriculum is great and it helps us to prepare for the real world applications and also for the further academic pursuits.By the materials for the syllabus were most not available so it was so difficult for us to prepare for the exams and also the faculty face it so hard to teach us without proper materials. Also the face difficulty in the question level as we are forced to write the exams without proper materials. Our exams were not properly conducted they have published the exam date all of a sudden eventhough we studied semester wise they conducted exams yearly and 1&2 semester together it had us so hard to prepare for exams. Also our valuation was not properly done so only fews percentage of the students were only passed in the exams. The carelessness of the authorities spoiled life of many students like us.
