Remarks

SPM has little power in say when it comes to hostel management as it is handled by PDPU. However, management within SPM is helpful and quick due to flat structure of hierarchy. The program chair is a great human being and he is always helpful. Just maintain the attendance.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Students are given case studies and industry visits to understand the subject and everything learnt in classes is helpful for placements like sector specific subjects and generic ones. We have classes for Excel, Ms project and data analytics which is important for an MBA graduate. We are given many opportunities to research as a part of assignments where you research, make presentations and projects. The best part is examination system. They follow IIM pattern.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are good I would say. Everyone gets placed. Even during covid, 4 unplaced students gave interview and got placed. Out of 59, two students are unplaced and because they don't want to go for it. Internships are mostly unpaid but good experience if u want to learn. Placement is easy if you have knowledge and good communication skills. College organises training specially for placements and it's compulsory for everyone. The specialists cover everything right from resume writing to final interview. The specialist consult every student individually which is really helpful. Every year, not more than two are unplaced in a batch. In my seniors' batch it was just one unplaced student. Every company has their own criteria for placements but most prominent is gd and written test. Sometimes, shortlisting is done on profile basis. Placement committee is agile and keep updating the data base of profile. Internship is availed by college and everyone gets it. Placement need sharp communication skills and subject knowledge which you can acquire easily in class. Faculties are helpful in preparing students for specific job role.

College Events

3.5

Alumni meet for the entire alumnus base. Pratibimb which is our annual fest. Farewell, fresher's and all the festivals. We have a cultural committee which keeps organizing events for recreation. Other than this, we take part in PDPU's events and my favourite is global village where all the foreign students put stalls and share something of their culture. We have edm night every year. Last year, Ritviz came for the event. Other than this, we have various talent shows in college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible in comparison to other colleges. The college provides complete transparency in fee breakdown. It's worth it. payment can be done through neft or draft. My programme fee is 9,97, 850 INR for two years. Mess and hostel fee is paid at the beginning of the year and each year has three terms. Every term has 1,30,000 INR tution fee approx which is supposed to be paid at the beginning of the trimester.

Fees and Financial Aid

I opted for education loan of 7.5 lakhs through vidyalakshmi portal facilitated by SBI. I applied for it from the SBI bank located in the campus. convenient process. The final disbursal of loan and approval takes place in main branch located in udyog bhawan. Parents need to be the guarantor and student should have the joint account with the parent. They will see the income statement of the parent, marksheets, bonafide from college and once approved, you are supposed to submit fee circular Everytime you need disbursal and they will deduct interest from the joint account till the time you get employed.

Campus Life

4.5

In my batch, out of 59, 11 are girls. You can expect more or less the similar gender ratio in this branch for most of the batches. There are many opportunities for extracurriculars ranging from academics to sports. We have a great sports committee which is highly active in tournaments internally and externally. There are opportunities for live projects and the academic committee keeps organizing debates, gds and informative sessions. There is opportunity to learn and grow. You may not find student diversity as most of the people are Gujaratis like 60% of the batch. Given the less expensive course, you can find students from middle class families to Rich ones. People from metro cities and non vegetarians may find it difficult to adjust initially but we learn eventually.

Hostel Facilities

2

Yes. hostel is compulsory for SPM students. The infrastructure is good and the rooms are three seater. You can opt for AC (87,000) or Non Ac room (67,000 INR). However, you will get electricity bill in two three months to be paid. The bill is around 4-5k divided into three during summers. There is vending machine in every block to get snacks and the hostel campus is 5min walking distance from the main academic campus. You can opt for mess in hostel campus or academic campus as there are two mess. Food is not good at all. They have the variety but bad quality. You can get Jain food too. The hostel staff may be disrespectful specially guards. Even the warden we had is disrespectful. College amenities doesn't pay much heed to complaints. Hostel timings are good i.e 10:30 but dealing with warden for night out is a big task as they are moody. The hostel campus is beautiful and lush green. The strictness for girls is way more than for boys. There is a little book shelf in hostel block for readers. The Boys and girls hostel blocks are separate.

Alumni/Alumna

We have an alumni committee which has a good database of alumni. All our alumni are at good places and are really helpful. You can connect with them with convenience and they are always up for guidance.

Admission

I got it through CAT score (80 percentile). However, they accept even 60 percentiles depending on the profile and interview. I got call for interview in March and confirmation in April. Joined in July. Fill in the application and once shortlisted you will be called for GD followed by Interview. Try to be honest and fluent in interviews.

Faculty

4

Most of our lecturers have been in college since its inception. All of them have great subject knowledge and we have many guest lecturers coming to teach in 2nd year who have industry expertise. Many of them have their own books published. Most of them have years of experience and PhD. They believe in practical teaching and everyday there is self learning assignments. We have alot of presentations to deliver which is a good thing as it imbibes confidence. Avg Age of faculties is 35-55 years.
