Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is kept very contemporary and competitive with premier business schools. Although certain subjects are given less or more time comapred to other B schools. Interdisciplinary learning is prioritized and students can choose a variety of courses from the university including engineering, science and arts courses. The curriculum also includes "lab" subjects which are mostly based on improving the skillsets needed for management roles.
Fees and Financial Aid
A fees is paid every semester of 285000 which makes the yearly payment at 5.7 lakhs. There are no specific changes based on category. There were no specific financial aids involved except a reduction of fees by 2 lakhs for candidates who have CAT percentile above 90.
Campus Life
There are innumerable annual and technical festivals being held at the campus. As this management school is part of a proper university, the various clubs and students from different academic backgrounds have their own niche and space to operate in which creates an environment for a lot of activities for an MBA student to participate in. Student run clubs include robotics club, debate society, the MAC committee, literature club, heritage club and many more.
Admission
I applied to other top universities like IRMA, MICA, Christ etc. I couldn't get through the interiviews in tier 1.5 colleges. At the end I chose this college as this university takes itself seriously and is close to where I already have a home. The infrastructure and professionalism of this business school is competitive with top B schools although many aspects, especially placements can be improved a lot.
Faculty
The faculty to student ration in MBA classes is low as it has around 50-60 students per class but the faculty to student ration in MS economics and MSQF is very high. Some of the faculties I have liked here are Professor Samvet Kuril who has a decent pedagogy and charisma in teaching organizational behavior. Professor Parag Patel is also a great professor for finance related courses. Exams in the university are regular and depends on the course. Some courses may have no end semester exams but will have small quizzes. Most students pass their courses as evaluation is distributed across multiple components like quizzes, projects, presentations, activities and case studies.
Night Life
The college is situated right at the heart of Ahmedabad and therefore it has easy access to many good areas and landmarks of the city. The college has a good cafeteria with 4 types of cuisines available. It is very safe to roam around at night within the campus and in the surrounding city. Famous areas to hangout include cafeteria, tea tree student lounge and library. Library is open 24*7 along with a 24*7 wifi connection.
