Remarks

The college admin doesn't support a startup culture. Also the mess food is pretty bad, other than that, I love my college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

As of now in my first year we had general and similar courses for every first yearite. Even tough I was in CS, I had a course from each branch and these are compulsory for everyone for eg: Thermodynamics (by chemical branch professors), Electical Science (by electrical branch professors), Computer programming (by cs profs) etc. Some courses like Probability and Statistics was really practical and we could apply and simulate real-life situations. As we proceeded with each course the level of toughness increased. Yeah we do get great on-campus placements with FAANG companies placing our seniors.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement is one of the best across the country and is comparable to IIT's. We have 2 compulsory internships provided by BITS which has associations with industries and a lot of our seniors get PPO from there.

College Events

4

QUARK - Technical Fest WAVES- cultural fest Spree - Sports fest in each fest, teams from all over the country come to participate and compete. We have had great sponsors like Redbull, monster, Doritos, etc, and great artists like Amit Trivedi, Local Train, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is expensive than other government colleges since ours is a private one. Also, the process is absolutely transparent and there are no additional fees that the institute accepts to take people in. BITS is pretty strict regarding its admission policies and fee structure. Students are revolting against the increse in the fee structure that was a part of "BITS' vision 2020".

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't opt for the scholarship but college does provide 2 scholarship: 1. Merit and 2.Merit cum need - The merit scholarship is based on CGPA and MCN scholarship is only for those whose annual income is less than 10LPA.

Campus Life

4.5

Gender ratio is 13:1. A lot less number of girls here. There are a lot of clubs here where and they showcase they have their own nights and events. I am a part of the DRAMA club myself and we have our DRAMA night. We also have our own LGBTQ community and every person's feeling is respected here. Gender discrimination is there, to be honest as seniors try to impress junior girls and provide all the help to them XD. Jokes apart there's no problem and the best part is no one judges for who you are and how you live here. The clubs are quite active here and the coding and technical culture is great.

Hostel Facilities

3

Yeah, I did opt for hostels. They were amazing, super clean, tidy, well maintained and guarded. We had hot water taps, cleaning staff was also good. We had our hostel representatives which were students only and they made sure hostels were clean. The hostel fees for a semester was 40,000.

Alumni/Alumna

Yeah we have a lot of alumni lectures and meets which help us stay connected with our alumnus and there are a lot of grps where they help us and guide us in many ways.

Admission

BITS PILANI is one of the top universities in INDIA. So I gave BITSAT (the entrance exam) on 18th May and my score was 368/450. So then the ask you your branch preferences and then there are 5 rounds after which you get your final branch according to your preferance. I finally got admitted on 1st Aug 2019 and my branch was CS at BITS GOA.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty are very informed in their fields. Mostly from renowned institutions. The lecture do hold an industry experience and the average age will be from 25-50. This is because a lot of PhD students are also paid to teach us along with the profs.

I have no clue but the highest placements are in Computer and IT branches. Civil has probably the least placement. The quality is good thanks to IIT and NIT being in the same campus thus the big companies that come to those colleges also come to our colleges but they prefer those students more because NIT and IIT are more prestigious colleges.
