Remarks

College management is good and particularly the college is situated next to sea face which is refreshing.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course curriculum is pretty good. Exam structure and curriculum are relevant. Lectures given by professors are very useful to have a better understanding on a particular topic on a particular subject. Exam structure is bi annual i.e. semester wise.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement takes place in science stream. Companies normally take rounds of interview for a particular position.

College Events

3

Horizon is a cultural fest where all type of programmes take place like fancy dress, dance, mimicry etc. There are also technical and management festivals sometimes related to their particular field and liking. Generally college festivals are big and has sponsorship by various corporates or political parties.

Fee Structure And Facilities

College fee is feasible. Each stream has a different fee structure. Payment is accepted through DD or cash in favour of college or the principal. Particular stream admission fees are bifurcated and a detailed list is given as per the charge and where each and every detail is mentioned

Fees and Financial Aid

No I have not opted for any scholarship. I don't think the college offers scholarships to students but it can be offered to few meritorious students.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life is refreshing and chilling tension free. Gender ratio is equal and has a diverse background. Extra curricular activities are college festivals where you can participate and one day is DJ where your can dance to your favourite tunes. Sports activities are also given importance in this college and it also has NCC.

Hostel Facilities

3

I haven't opted for hostel as I live in the same city and nearby. Outside students can opt for PG in residential areas where they can share by living in 4 to 5 persona per flat for dividing of rent and other expenses. Average rental depends upon the area in mumbai. If you are living in suburbs then rent is less as compared to south mumbai. Rent in suburbs can go upto 30k and in city can go upto 60 to 70k per month.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are always helpful if you interact with them and are friendly. They will definitely help you provided you show some interest.

Admission

On merit as per the cut off. Each college displays a cut off list for intakes in a particular stream on particular dates. Once the cut offs are displayed then you have to visit personally to each college to fill the admission forms and submission. After submitting the forms you have to wait for the merit list of percentage displayed on notice board. Accordingly you can visit on mentioned date for admission and take admission.

Faculty

4

Good and knowledgeable faculty. You can ask the faculty any of your doubts freely and they are very helpful. The lecturers are qualified and hold a degree in lectureship. They have the ability to make the lecturers interesting by giving good examples and hence making the topic easy.

Placements in my college are decent but not very high. students usually become eligible from the final year and few companies visit for roles like accounting assistant, sales, customer service. The average package is usually around Rs.2LPA-Rs.3LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Due to NEP the course has been more developed to the students and teachers also explain the topocs to us very clearly and the thing should be change that the timing of the paper are at morning time which is at 7:30am it should be 10 or 10:30 because this time the students get late to the paper and didnt get time to prep.

Course Curriculum Overview:

One of the key aspects of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the B.Com course at Sydenham College was its strong foundation in core commerce subjects such as Accounting, Economics, Business Law, and Finance. The structured progression from basic to advanced concepts, along with exposure to subjects like taxation and auditing, made the program particularly appealing for students aiming for careers in finance, CA, CS, or management.

Placements society of college is just a decade old and still top companies like Zues Capital, Barclays, and Icici bank are among the top colleges that have become a part of ecosystem where 30-40 students is what each companies hires every year. Not many though as too many sections and 500+ students means getting placed even half the students can be a task where Mithibai placement percentage is 60 odd percentage.
