Remarks

The college is a red sandstone building and has a beautiful infrastructure. It has its own botanical garden, beautiful landscapes and auditorium. The sun dial in the centre of the college campus and the cannons in the frontyard is its attraction. The management and faculty reside in campus and are very supportive.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

It was a basic graduation course with honours which will enable to qualify and decide the electives of ones career. The curriculum is a standard one and one becomes adept in the basics. Being basic graduation, there are no industrial visits but in campus project works hone the skills.

Placement Experience

2.5

It was basis graduation from this college. Hence, placement is not a part of the system. it only enriches, guides and hone our skills for higher education i.e. laying the foundation.

College Events

3

Several cultural festivals intra college & inter college, College annual function, annual Sports intra college & inter college, management seminars, visiting faculty vocational trainings. Even, being a residential college, there are inter hostel competitions held.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The college is a Government college and very renowned. The fee structure is very transparent and reasonable. There is discount on fees to promote women education. There is component of Annual fees, yearly fees and examination fees.During my time, the composite annual fees was merely Rs. 2000. It might have significantly increased by now.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, there is no scholarship facility for graduation course. This is a basic foundation course of higher education and is very affordable with or without hostel facility. So, no such facility was available during that time but i guess this needs to be checked at this time, if at all they have any such facility

Campus Life

4.5

The college belongs to the British era and had seen several anglo indian students in the past. The ladies education impetus through fee discounting and reservation quota has enabled a good gender ratio; almost 2:1 during our times. The college promotes sports and has huge cricket, football & basket grounds. Also badminton courts. It holds annual functions and inter hostel cultural programmes at its huge audtitorium.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Yes, I used to stay in hostel. There is ample hostel facility for both boys & girls. The 1st year of graduation is spent in a dormitory and you get 4/5 bedded rooms for 2nd and 3rd year of graduation. Hostel facilities are standard but very hygienic. Food is also provided i.e. lunch and dinner and nicely cooked with two days non-vegetarian in a week.

Alumni/Alumna

The college has produced alumni who are veterans in their fields of activity and achieved great name and fame. The college being one of the oldest and finest has to its credit several persona of high cadre and status. The college also holds alumni meet and the oldest of the old students try their best to attend the same. This network also helps in placement of the higher studies group in the campus.

Admission

Admissions were based on results of the previous course. I had taken commerce as the college is mostly known for the same in the state. The basic process is to fill the form and attach the certificates of the previous courses from 10th boards. You get a call if it satisfies their cut off percentage.

Faculty

4

The USP of the college is its faculty who are highly educated and trained. There are at least 20 faculties in the commerce stream with combination of professors & lecturers. In addition there are visiting faculties imparting vocational training on industry practices and trends.

Placement Experience:

In our college, final-year students are eligile for campus placements. While i don't recall the specific companies that visited, one of my friends interviewed with Axis Bank and got selected with a package of around 2.4 lakh. The exact percentage of students are placed and details of average or highest packages are unclear to me, but the placements process provides opportunities of those actively seeking jobs. After completing my degree, I plan to pursue an independent career rather that seeking a traditioinal job placement.
