Remarks

First of all this is NIT, it's NIRF ranking is also good. This college have a reputation to provide 80%+ placement every year. Also teachers are well qualified and they focus on each students. Average package for Electrical students is around 6LPA

Course Curriculum Overview

Professors are very helpful. Tarni mandal sir teaches maths, he is very decent and also care too much of their students. Our college improved too much in the last 4 years. We build new academics building with new technologies also we have secured 79 NIRF rank this year, last year our ranking was around 130

Internships Opportunities

Career 360, I got 3500 every month. They hired me on the basis of my performance, I worked for them for 1 day. It is off campus.

Placement Experience

Placement record in my college is very good. Around 70-80% students placed in software companies. Some product based companies like paytm, one plus, amazon , adobe, gold man sachs etc visited in our campus. Procedure is simple, first you have to clear written test then interview.

College Events

Amazing, we have 2 major fest OJASS and CULFEST as well as we have many small fest like URJA and every branch have their own fest. To show our strength on technology, OJASS provides us the platform. CULFEST is full of fun, it is cultural program of our college.

Fees and Financial Aid

SBI will give you loan easily, not only SBI any bank can give you loan because this is NIT. Our college provide scholarships . I got 125000 of scholarship every year also state and center government will give you scholarships, if eligible.

Campus Life

Our college work hard to improve their condition. Now we have new classes and labs. Every weeks we have to do practicals on labs. Equipment are workable in each lab. Their is wifi in library and we gets LAN connection in our hostel room.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel is amazing. Hostel J&K is for 2nd & 3rd year. We get single room with every facility. We have LAN connections in our room. There is 7th floor and every floor have 6 block. Each block have their own bathrooms. Hostels are very neat and clean.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
