Remarks
SIES is quite a well known and good uni for commerce related courses. And it made travelling convenient for me. It also has a big campus, and a lot of fests with people like Salim Suleiman and Ankit Tiwari coming in for the college fest, called Siesons. Apart from that, there are departmental fests also. There is equal focus on academia as well as extra curricular activities. There are also other activities like inter- departmental seminars and debates which make it quite fun and educative at the same time
Course Curriculum Overview
The course syllabus is quite updated. It relates us to the actual work ex which happens in the job market. My favourite was our HOD, Indu ma'am, who taught us cost accounting in a very interesting way without actually creating pressure.
Placement Experience
There are a lot of companies which offer placements. The common big names are HSBC bank, Flipkart and L & T. However, different companies arrive for different departments. There is a placement cell which facilitates these placements.
College Events
There are a lot of events and fests in every even semester. The biggest ofcourse is Siesons, where big names like Salim Suleiman, Ankit Tiwari, Farhan Akhtar have come for concerts. The biggest advantage is there is free entry for all. Apart from that, every department has its own fest. So it's a lot of fun, and the participation is immense.
Campus Life
The library is really big and well equipped. Recently, there was also a book sale initiative conducted where selected books were sold at only ?50/-. There are three computer labs with adequate facilities.
