Remarks

They dont give us much as for what we have paid for. Also school is too far away from main city.

Entrance Preview

RGI has its own entrance exam. Depending on the result one gets admission in desired course. If someone doesnot score good in Mains or Advanced, RGI is the only left option in Guwahati.

Course Curriculum Overview

The college has all desired electives of B. Tech. The college has other courses too like B.A, B.COM, MBA, M.TECH and all others. Complete syllabus is being taught. B Tech course includes every course-CS, Mechanical and all others.

Internships Opportunities

All internship promises made in newspapers are totally false. Only some small companies come for it. nothing was paid for it. Had a very bad experience.

Placement Experience

All promises of good placements were false. no good companies came for requirements. Only about150 got job. Avg salary range was 15k-35k.

College Events

All college events were just awesome. Too much money os spend on it. Every month some famous personality come in the college like chetan bhagat, rahul gandhi etc came. Inter college and inter state competitions are held too.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Very very very expensive fees. About 2.5lakhs a year, not affordable for everyone. The tution fees is about 10k per month depending about the course. Lab fees are high, about 10, 000 per month. There are pther charges too.

Fees and Financial Aid

No there is no loan availability. But yes the fees can be paid in 6 installments. If paid in installments they will take some extra charge for it.

Campus Life

Number of boys is more than that of girl in B.Tech. in B com and other courses it is almost same. There is no discrimination or such for different religions or for economically week people-no ragging and other things-strict rules against it.

Hostel Facilities

5k-10k per month. Good food. Nice environment. 2-3 students live together in a room. If anyone has any problem then the hostel caretaker solves it.

External Expense: Rs. 4000 - Rs. 7000

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are good and supportive. They will miss their exam studies but will help in juniors in their exams. Alumi programs are organised every year and students have a lot of fun.

Exam Structure

Exams are frequent in RGI. paper checking is very strict. Labs are super awesome with high tech facilities.

Faculty is good and supportive. All concepts are made clear. Projects are given by them, but there teaching way is not too good. but if someone needs extra classes/doubt classes then they are eveready.

A calm and disciplined campus life at JIST

Course Curriculum Overview:

Most of the professors are good here.The college covers the core subjects required for strong foundation in engineering. However the theoretical coverage is good the scope for practical exposure is still required.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible to participate for Internship placements from 3rd year and FTE offer from 4th year starting. Overall the placements scenarios are pretty good considering it to be a NIT. The overall highest package goes to around 80 lac plus and the average package lies around 18 to 20 lac for CSE Department. The opportunities are great with companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Nvidia coming for on campus opportunities providing agreat experience

Many companies visited our campus for placement..Top IT Companies that visited our campus is Samsung, Nvidia, Oracle , SAP Lab , Cisco etc Psu also visited for placement... Which includes BPCL, OIL India Limited,EIL, MECON, BEL, HPCL.. etc .. Top core company also visited here ... Which includes vedanta , jsw , Tata Power, Honda etc . Highest package is 82 lpa which is given by atlassian. Average is 6 lpa I am working in infratech company

NIT Silchar Review: Campus, Career and Career Prospects

Placement Experience:

NIT Silchar has decent placement stat. Approx 75 percent student got placement from campus and they got decent package. In NIT Silchar from 7th semester students are eligible for placement and company comes whole year for recruiting. Approx 100 company visit the college throughout the year. In tech Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Walmart and more companies come. For core L&T, Adani, Tata Steel and more companies come. For service base Infosys, TCS, Wipro will come and give good offer. Highest package will come from tech company and that is 52lpa and average from all companies will lie from 10 to 12 lpa . My plans is that in my 4th year atleast I will get one job. If I don't get job then I will try from off campus or giving paper for government job

The placement is quite good in my college. In 7 th semester the placements start and the package goes from 16lpa to 2 cr . About 75 percent student who applied got placed . I want to work in a software firm.

Students normally appear for placements in fourth year with two placement seasons namely from december to january and february to march. Companies include quant companies and tech giants like JPMC, Reliance Industries, WellsFargo,Piramal, Standard Chartered,Texas Instrumentation, walmart, Microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte,Oracle, HCL, Barclays, Tata steel, uber, legato, Mastercard, Nutanix, BPCL, BEL,PWC, Socgen, etc. Almost 80% students get placed every year with the average package ?1,60,000. The highest package was 1.68 crore per annum from the branch of Computer Science.
