Remarks

Actually this college is under central govt. So the quality of teaching; library facilities and also the infrastructure and equipments are too good to grab the knowledge. The no of patients is above than moderate that will help in internship to gain ample scope to gather practical knowledge. The amount of sallery is also higher than other colleges because it ensures the central pay scale which is higher than state. Last but not the least; I wanted to stay in Kolkata to get better opportunities for preparing in my future post-graduations that is NEET-PG.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course is really lengthy and hectic. we have to gather many information and some logical part is there also. medical is an ever changing science. so we have to study really hard to cope up and besides keeping us updated always. this is the main challenge. Medical curriculum doesn't need any industrial exposure. what it needs is patients. the more you remain in contact with various diseases and their treatment procedures and with senior intern or housestaffs. the more you will be a good doctor with clinical sense. The faculties are more or less good everyone. as I am a student and they all are like my guardian so I don't want to hit odd one out. they all are dedicated for our betterment. but you know it's obvious there are some glitches in some professor's approach but I think if we have the real will from heart to learn something from them by accepting them as they are (because no two person is same in this world); yes we can.

Placement Experience

5

No actually as this is a medical college ; there no such quote unquote "campusing" like stuffs. After our graduation we have to apply for hospitals and if there are vacancies we got chance or some apply for private nursing homes. some open their own chambers. some start to prepare for NEET-PG exams. It completely depends on particulars.

College Events

5

Our college organize two types of events one is annual cultural fest and annual sports. I have already aforementioned about sports. now the cultural fest SURGE that brings a chilled fresh air in this monotonous college days for almost 1-2 weeks with series of events like recitation; creative writings; dance; singing; battle of bands; fashion show; pubg tournament; eating tournament; meme making; open mic; treasure hunt and what not. I mean you will get enough chances to show your own talent. And ultimately the star nights.like dreams come true.many celebrities bands come to mesmerize you the whole night for 2-3 consecutive days. and at the last day the awesome gala lunch thrown by fest organising batch. Participation is very hasslefree. it's intercollege so you can give your name online to the assigned personnel from our poster which is circulated many days before the events in social media and also in our facebook page "SURGE". there are not only cash prizes for winners but some free subscriptions also to marrow ; prepladder etc online platforms and much more.so it's really a golden opportunity for everyone to grab those.

Fees and Financial Aid

As our college is under ESIC scheme of Ministry of Labour.so ; if your parent is an ESIC card holder your one installment is always being waived off every year ( for ex. If I have to give 1 lakh for two semester you will give 50k for two) and you will enjoy 50% seat reservation also. The free treatment is given to the whole family of an esic card holder throught the whole life and also minimum wages is taken from other patients.

Campus Life

5

Our campus area is big enough. including a small play ground ; greenery is everywhere with tastefully decorated corridors. sports opportunity is always there even our college organize annual interyear and intercollege tournaments every year with different events from football to tug-of war.from badminton to carom. from cricket to handball. from basketball to race. High speed uninterrupted Wi-fi facility is in the library and also in the campus but it's not free; it's password protected; which is given to each and every students after admission. The central library is quite big it has two UG & two PG reading room with quiet atmosphere with plenty of books ; manuscripts ; journals ; magazines; research papers etc.it's not digitalised yet but will be soon.library authority is working on it.all students have free access to explore all the materials in the library except few that's needed special permission. every student is given two types of library cards for free obviously; one is for reading purpose and one is for requisition in home. The whole academic building is centrally air-conditioned. All labs from 1st to final year is well equipped with plenty of advanced expensive instruments. for ex.electron microscope etc.

Well medical colleges are not meant for placements as most students have higher studies plan. Delhi's prestigious hospital groups do come for placements and also offer a bomb cheques to the students but of role that they might not consider.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I've always wanted to become a doctor. Every batch consists of 150 students and for every subject, there are at least 4-5 professors. All faculty members are of course doctors with varying degrees of specialization in their respective fields. Their teaching method is through PowerPoint slides for theory classes and practical's are held in respective labs as it happens everywhere else usually. As for now, due to COVID exams being postponed otherwise before the pandemic, exams were held on time. Exams in a medical college are always slightly more difficult than other courses otherwise if you study properly it's not that tough to pass.

The admission is done purely on the basis of your NEET score. A cutoff is declared after the NEET results are out. A merit list is taken out. Upto 3 merit lists are taken out on regular intervals of 2-3 days during the admission and counseling process. I scored 474 in neet and got admitted to this college.

PGIMS Rohtak as everyone know is one of the oldest medical colleges in India. It is also one of the reputed colleges. It was given an A+ grade. It provides quality education to the students who thought it might be lacking a bit in infrastructure and extracurricular activities.
