Entrance Preview

Tamil Nadu Undergraduate entrance Exam. Scored 265/300.In the counseling I had Information technology in the same college and all other courses in other Govt college. But I wanted to be a part of Anna University, Chennai. Hence I selected Electronics and Instrumentation. E & I in MIT is famous world wide.

Course Curriculum Overview

Instrumentation courses start in the third year only. Electives were Embedded systems, Computer control of Process, Linear & Digital Integrated Circuits. The best course was Industrial Instrumentation I & II, taught by Dr. P.Kanagasapabathy, who was the Dean of the college then.

Internships Opportunities

Internship was never a part of course curriculum then. So No one ever did internship back then.

Placement Experience

Placements for instrumentation was best in India. Top Instrumentation companies like ONGC, EIL, BPCL etc comes directly to college. Electronics core companies are quite few, as they target ECE mostly.

College Events

Technical fest and Cultural fest are held every year. As being the Zonal Head, my college receives lot of coverage. Almost all colleges participate. Apart from that, the CSE, ECS nad E&I dept functions are more popular.

Fees and Financial Aid

No specific separate loan facility was provided by college directly. Lot of small scale scholarships are being provided by alumini wrt different departments. The respective Hod would be having a clear idea.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumini network is the best in the whole world. The placements are highly tuned to that. Most companies came to our college because they had alumini in their team.

Exam Structure

There were 2/3 internals. and a semester at the end. All are equally spaced out. No much of assignments to work on. Hence have lot of time for other activities.

My Life inside VIT'V

Placement Experience:

B.tech students will be eligible after they complete their credits before the 3rd year and usually that is the period during which they will be eligible for placements. For integrated M.tech it might be after the 4th year in 5th year,they could get a year for internships which is good for students. This might be considered as my interest in this course.The placement is around 95 percent.My plans after getting the degree is to become a highly skilled person and to get a job in google. Many companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Qualcomm, etc place our campus.There are no such companies that visited and made no offers.

A review about KARE

Placement Experience:

In my college placement start from 7th semester, students get eligible to sit in drives. Many companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro and some core firms visited and gave good no of offers. Highest package was around 10 LPA and average near 4.5 LPA depending on profile, mostly software dev, testing and few core engineer role. Around 70% students got placed last year, rest go for higher studies or other prep. My plan after finishing degree is to first try campus offer then aim for higher studies if I not satisfied. Overall placement is decent but still more core companies should come.

I chose this college mainly for placement reason.Also this is one of the best college in tamilnadu.The admission process is quite less compared to other colleges.
