Entrance Preview
Right after my 12th examinations in 2012, I had my IIT JEE and other arduous challenging exams for a seat in one of the best engineering colleges in India. But my hopes went all shattered after that 3 hour long exhaustive exams, one by one. And then came the saviour.UPSEE. I had made up my mind not to go for a 1yr break with coachings and all. So, I gave my best in this final entrance exam, and scored a rank around 19000.
Internships Opportunities
Well, we haven't gone under any such college internship experience. It has been that 1 Month summer training after 3rd yr, where we had to learn about an ongoing project at a site and submit a report and presentation for the same. Some guys may have done summer internship, where they would have received a stipend but that's not in the case of summer training.
Placement Experience
A salary package around 3.3 lakhs was offered. Many other private companies have been visiting the college recently such as NEC Technologies, NTT Data etc.But no ones got a record greater than Infosys.Indian Navy too had its steps in IPEC.A few candidates were selected.Mostly, companies visit after the 7th sem break i.e around February-March.Civil students, who are truly interested in a career in Civil Engineering, need to put in more efforts than just passing and scoring good in semester exams. The same applies to Mechanical students. A good college for CS, IT, EC career interested students.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarship schemes are being provided every year by the Samaj Kalyan Vibhag, under U.P government..but no such special scholarships are been granted by the college. All students, who have their aggregates above 70% at the end of every year are being rewarded by the college as Rs100 for each % above 70 upto75, then Rs200 for above 75%. Also, top 3 students every year are rewarded with some amount of money, generally upto Rs 10, 000.
Campus Life
Campus life is definitely the best one can ever live in.You get to know about your position amongst a sea of other students.Everyone possessing a unique characteristic, trying to be a friend or foe of yours, teaches you great lessons of life. This 4yr interaction with both he and she counts a lot for the rest of your life.Well, talking about gender ratios in Civil branch is senseless. It has to be boys all around. It's even worse for the Mechanical ones. You won't find much dramas and all that stuff at IPEC.One can observe the serenity within the freshers and the tenseness around the final yr students. One of the most unrespected issues have been the attendance criteria.75% attendance is something which is quite difficult to maintain, especially for a final yr student. Thus, you can find people hanging around in the classes just for the sake of attendance. Extracurricular hasn't been my area, but still IPEC is Ok in this department. It does host a variety of programmes every year, giving importance to all round development. Overall, the campus life is engrossing and I hope the same for the juniors.
Hostel Facilities
I am a day-scholar. So, I don't have much idea about the hostel facilities which are been provided in the college hostel. The hostel facilities seem to be good though.Infrastructure is plenty can accommodate around 700-800 in total(boys and girls). I have been through the hostel rooms. They are sufficient in space and for living. Single seaters are only available for the final year students. The rest share amongst 3 members in one room. As the college campus isn't too big, the girls and boys hostel are almost at the same spot. The day scholars are not allowed within the mess. Only hostelers are allowed. So, no chance of having a bite of that untill you stay down with one of your hostel mates. PG's are located all around the college. You may find rooms along with mess facilities quite easily.
Faculty
Faculty is that factor which decides the image of a college within students. IPEC, for me has been a see-saw in this issue. When I was in the 1st yr, all the relative faculties were mind blowing. Be it knowledge or discipline, They were the best professors I had ever met. Both 1st & 2nd sem were an excellent display of highly skilled faculty members. Even at the Practical labs, they were completely faultless. But as my core branch came in, I started to feel some panic around. All those faculty members, except a one or two, were nightmares.
