Remarks

The college is quote renowned in the north east with a lot of students from that part of the country studying in the college. The infrastructure is good, the faculty is knowledgeable and the college maintains a good balance between studies and fun.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course is for a duration of 5 years and it consists of 10 semesters. Being a law course, the focus is extensively on theory. We also have practical sessions that are about court ethics, PILs, Legal Aid, etc.

Placement Experience

The college provides the students with lots of opportunities. Various law firms and legal practitioners recruit the law graduates for the legal services. The college provides good training and guidance to the students.

College Events

The college organizes a lot of events every year ranging from legal events to cultural events to sports. Legal events include moot courts, mock parliaments, legal aid camp, debates, etc. Cultural events include the annual fest and sports day.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The course consists of 10 semesters and the fee per semester is 13,500/- which is quite feasible and affordable. It rounds upto 27,000/- per year which can easily be afforded by the people. Students from all categories can afford the fees of the college.

Campus Life

The colleges offer extra curricular activities to the students along with paying a good amount of attention to studies. There is also moot court competitions, an annual fest, workshops, seminars and other festivals are celebrated too.

Hostel Facilities

The college does not have a hostel of its own. There are my private hostels and pg's around the campus of the college which provide good rooms and all basic amenities to the students for accommodation facilities.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni of the college are well settled and well established in their careers. They are all working in good firms and practicing at the high courts and the supreme court of India. The sometimes visit campus to interact with the students and share a few words.

Admission

The admission in the college is based on entrance test. The eligibility criteria to gain admission in the college is minimum of 50% marks in 10+2. Eligible students will be selected on merit after the admission test and interview process.

Faculty

4

The faculty is very learned and and scholarly. They are quite the master of their respective subjects and very thorough. They are communicative expressive and promote and support a talkative and interactive classroom culture.

Remarks:

The management needs a huge change. They must try to sort out the issues of the students. They often ignore our demands. We had different issues with the authority regarding academics, elections. Overall remarks about the collegee was not too good.

Remarks:

The good remarks about this college is that unlike other colleges it's not that strick and the faculty members are very friendly with the students and since I haven't encountered any dislikes about the college so I couldn't say anything bad.

Jorhat Law College is a Government law school situated in, Jorhat in the Indian state of Assam. The college is affiliated to Dibrugarh University. This College is recognised by Bar Council of India, New Delhi. The candidates who wish to get admission must be a graduate with atleast 45 percent. They will have to give the entrance exam and based on their merit, they will be given admission.

Admission:

Admissions to B.A. L.L.B. program is done on basis of Common Admission Test (CAT) 2019 conducted by Dibrugarh University. Admission to the college is in online mode. Candidates can download/ acquire the admission form, fill-up and submit the same along with the requisite fees and required documents. I got qualified in the entrance exam and got an admission offer letter in my mail and went ahead for seeking admission into the college following the instructions.

Admission:

The college makes selection process for BA.LLB programme through a merit and admission Test followed by an Interview. So I filled up the application form and the written test was conducted in the 1st week of July. The results were out immediately in a day or two and I found my name in the merit list. Then I went for the interview round and luckily the tables turned in my favour and I was selected. They ask pretty simple and basic questions in the interview.

The J.B.Law College is a prestigious law institution in the north east. Students from entire North East comes to the college. So definitely there are positive remarks in the college. Yes,every students of our college admits that the fee structure is high.
