Remarks

Overall experience of the college is good. I have completed my 5 years of education in the same college. Yes there pros and cons for everything and NUCSER has its own pros and cons. NUCSER has state class equipment and lab facilities.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

MSc. Biomedical sciences is research oriented course that is if one is passionate about research and development he/she can join without any doubt. But the opportunity for jobs in regular life science companies is less and will be provided with the same wages as like other MSc courses. 5 courses in each semester. Examination pattern: 2 internal exam in each semester for 20 marks for every subject. 50 marks external examination and 30 marks for practical including 10 for record.

Placement Experience

1.5

Placement opportunities in the college is almost nill. As most of the companies don't know what job to be given for a biomedical science student. Various efforts are being done for placement of students which is highly ineffective. College doesn't provide any internship program.

College Events

3

Onam: Festival of Kerala. In college people of different states come together to celebrate Onam. Goonj: 3 days of full celebration. Various cultural activities and competitions will be held. Sports day: various sports teams of the college compete against each other. National Science day: observed on February 28 th, intercollegiate science quiz competition will be conducted. World food safety day: a guest lecture on food safety and recent technology will be provided. International women's day, Bioethics day, Karnataka Rajyotsava will also be conducted.

Fees and Financial Aid

No scholarship or loan facility is provided from the college. Loan can be availed from the private or government banks. The college will provide a quotation to get education loan from banks. Scholarship can be availed from central minority development board if students are from minority community.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni association is a useless things. As 75% of the college are women who get married early. Most of the alumni people have no contact of their juniors neither the college. Many seniors are working in diagnostic companies and food processing industries.

Admission

I did my graduation in the same college. So it was comparatively easy for me to get admitted. College Doesn't have any entrance exams. Seats will be provided through management quota based on number of seats available and also based on overall percentage. To get admitted one has to take DD in favour of Nitte University. For 1st year the tuition fee is 1.07 lakh rupees and for 2nd year it is 1.7 lakh rupees.

Faculty

3.5

Faculties in the college are good and friendly. However most of the faculty of the college are from microbiology background. The teaching efficiency of lecturers are comparatively better. Though the course includes diverse subjects, lecturers are not so diverse in their knowledge.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I liked this biotechnology course in degree(Bsc) and i wanted to continue this course with higher studies. Hence this university is reputed one in Karnataka.. i choose this one and I got the seat and I am very happy for this. The teaching methods are really good but it depends on particular lecturers, how they teach .. For main sem exam the time was around 3 hours for 70 marks and it was moderate and can be manageable
