Remarks

Infrastructure should have been better. College is good in managing activities and syllabus.

Course Curriculum Overview

As of this course what I think is most of the things are related to what is going on practical sites. It has widen my way of thinking.my approach towards thinking logically and planning and designing accordingly. Architecture has taught me a lot of things directly or indirectly.

Placement Experience

So Dr.Baliram Hiray College of Architecture does not offer any placements.infact most of the architecture doesn't offer.Which is a great setback for this course.

College Events

Yes, college helds different events within college only. As in technical there are debate on architecture terms,topics,etc.There are competition on designing a particular topic. Cultural activities like dance, fashion show, Acts,singing,drama,etc. And both indoor and outdoor games.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was around 90000 till 2018 which I think is way to more than what they offer in infrastructure. Mode of payments were cash,cheque,net banking. Yes not additional fees but there is an quota through donation. Yes the college provides transparent in the fee breakdown.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes the college gives scholarship for people whose income are way to less and for schedule caste,schedule tribes and OBC.

Campus Life

Campus was small enough. But we have our extracurricular activities like designing, painting,model making,fashion,dance,acts,and both indoor and outdoor games.Our college used to conduct a seminar open to all colleges and architects throughout the city and that was a great experience for every student of Architecture.

Hostel Facilities

No I had not opted for hostel. Hostels were not upto the mark. Basic amenities were provided like water and electricity but should have added laundry room servicing,wifi,etc The average rent per month is around 2500. Capacity was hardly of 30 students.

External Expense: Rs.4000 - Rs.7000

Alumni/Alumna

Most of the seniors are helpful. They help us in submission, extracurricular activities and on many more things. Alumni are not that helpful as our proffersor are.

Admission

I have been very good at drawings from my early age.so I thought I should give it a try. I started preparing for my CAT entrance exams.then applied for it and passed it with distinction So I got a chance to choose college of my choice. As this college is near to me I took admission here.

Faculty

So there was decent number of lectures in our course.Around 600/650 leactures happens in one year. Some of the faculties are way to helping and some of them are more experienced and some of them are interns so it is combination of everything which is more fun.

Perfect infrastructure but more experience faculty needed

Course Curriculum Overview:

The reason i choose architecture because it fascinates me how a place can be developed into holistic place interests me . The curriculum has some good inputs but it doesn't make you industry ready extra efforts should be taken to learn advance softwares extra classes newer research etc discussion on advance technology becomes important in modern age how architecture is changing is not discussed

Course Curriculum Overview:

The frequency of exam is twice a semester and good enough. Guest lectures are good and helpful for the future preparation.There must be a change in teaching styles of the faculty and more site based experiments through the course for better understanding than only in class studies , the beauty of historical buldings made me wonder about this course

Placement Experience:

For architecure departments, usually there are no placements, but since this Institute is autonomous, they have startes conducting placements drive. Last year 10/12 students were placed in good firms all over banglore, pune, kolhapur. I plan on applying to different firms all over Maharashtra and would also hope to get placement via college since the packages that are offered are good. Placement percentage is anywhere between 12-15%. The highest package offered was around 5,40,000, average package for a architecture student would be-around 3lakhs.

Placement Experience:

There is no campus placement for architecture students. After completion of the degree, one can apply for jobs or opt for masters. Architects get an average starting salary of 20-25 thousand. The course is pretty expensive including college fees and printing prices. One can also open a private firm and earn enough money. There are very few open students getting placed. My plans after getting a degree are to apply for masters. For a teaching job, one must complete masters.

Hiray College experience

i got my admission to this college through the cap allotment system. in the cap allotment i applied for other colleges like SEA (mumbai), L.S Raheja (mumbai), Kamla Raheja (mumbai) and a couple more i cant recall with Hiray college being like the 5th of my preferance. Im a non maharashtrian so most of the colleges have majority seats reserved for maharashtra domiciles and my percentile was 70% in 12th which could be the reason why i was alloted this college. In my home state (kerala) i applied to colleges through KEAM entrance exam and was alloted to SCMS School of Architecture (Ernakulam). I took my admission there as cap allontment results hadnt been published at that time. i transferred from SCMS in kochi to Hiray college in Mumbai with expectations for better exposure and opportunities. the admission process was rather easy in my college. we just had to go there submit a few documents like cap allotment result, aadhar card, 10th and 12th marksheet, domicile certificate, income certificate (for fee waivers or EWS category students) etc, fill their admission form and pay the fees. overall cutoff of this college is rather low as ik a few of my have gotten admission even with just 60% in their 12th. the exam accepted for this course is NATA and the cutoffs for this course is calculated considering both 12th percentile and NATA score....Read More

HIRAY OF ARCHITECHTRURE

I applied for hiray Pillai JJ and also Rachna Raheja etc and I got admission here in the first listen to HIRAY college and hence I took admission here.no quota was availed for this college admission. admission criteria were minimum of 60 percent and NATA competitive exam and also donation admission is also given. admission age was around 17 years that is 12th complete.
