Remarks

Im my time 2011-2014 only the female students had to wear the uniforms. At present uniform is mandatory. I think that was not equality at nobody considered it. No girl protested against that problem.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

The College curriculam was decided by the University. And Ofcourse it is outdated. And they tech the same subjects over and again in plus two, graduations and post graduation, not a good thing to do. The still teaches the outdated subjects. Few of the teachers were good. They teach us in industrial standards.

Placement Experience

1

The faculties refer us about the interviews that are taking place in various colleges and companies, also online interviews are conducted in the college as part of the campus placement process.

College Events

2

Events of the year starts with College Union Inauguration. In my time college had two departments IT and commerce, so we had IT and Commerce association celebrations. We celebrated onam, christmas, arts day, sports day. most of the students participated in any of the festivals.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As the college is Affiliated to University of calicut. A relevent university in the state of kerala. Fees for each course is decided by the university. And it is feasible for the middle class family to support their children, In 2014 The annual fees for a graduation course was around 20000

Fees and Financial Aid

The students coming from backward communities can get the scholardhip from the Egrantz portal of kerala state goverment.

Campus Life

1.5

There were no gender or racial issues. All the students are from the same state. Students from various religions were there, there were no racial problems. Political parties posses student orgnisations so there were losts of fights and struggles in the students as part of the political agenda.

Hostel Facilities

0.5

the college doesnt had hostel in my times. houses are available for rent in the nearby areas. A group of minimum of 4 students can rent a home a live on their terms. The rent is around 8000 per house.

Alumni/Alumna

There were not any alumni network over my times, but we does had good interaction with our seniors and they supported us inn various ways.

Admission

University of Calicut Admission Peocedure, university invites admission from the beginning of june, 70 percentage of seats are filled by goverment, and 30 percentage is management quota. Admission is based on plus two marks. College follows reservation criterias imposed by the Goverment of Kerala

Faculty

2

Its a selfinancing college most of the lecturers are freshers and having lesser teaching experiences, but I do remember some good faculties I got there, The lecturers don't hold any relevant industrial experiences. They do cough about what they learned from their college days, they follow the copy cat style, they want the students to follow what they have to teach. Not a kind of college for rebellious people.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is almost best. Curriculum doesn't influenced me in deciding this course. Curriculum should add internships. Currently there is no mandatory internship, if students are interested they can do internship during vacations. As we are learning psychology which need to be practiced in real world settings, curriculum must include real world training to help students understand things more effectively. Currently intervel between exams are non existent. Internal exams, then semester exams, you blink once, next internal exams, followed by semester exams. Syllabus is understandable, can learn if you try. Exams are also manageable. Real world examples and stories can be included in teaching methods, as psychology is related to humans and human interaction, to get better grasp of concepts. Rather than focusing on passing exam, should focus on the concepts and understand them in-depth. There are a lot of theories to study by heart. And there are many repetitive topics that overlap, but in different semesters.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is Bsc Biotechnology. It is a research associated course. Its main scope is in research. But in every industry let it be medical or industrial a biotechnologist is required. I would like more practical knowledge than theory knowledge in this course as it is needed to be implemented in labs hands on experience is essential. Exams are conducted every 6 months as semester. Class tests and model exams are conducted frequently. Assignments, projects, seminar ,etc.. are given every month.
