The college is good in placements. There's nothing bad in academic.

Our college curriculum is based on Course Outcome. Here we follow CBCS (Choice based Credit system) in which we will be able to choose our favourible Courses & staffs. The syllabus for mechanical engineering is updated from 2018 batches which will be more industry and interest specific. Since TCE is government aided college, students have to plan for industrial visits and the college will just provide OD and support to students.

Almost 90% of the students will be placed in any company in TCE. Majority of the companies that comes for placement are IT companies. Even in IT companies, all the other departments like mechanical, civil, ECE, EEE will be placed more in number. The number of core companies that comes are low and only very few will get placed in core companies. Some of the IT companies that come to TCE are TCS, Infosys, ShopUp, Zoho, Accenture. The institution will be concentrating more on the placements. They conduct placement training programs and mock interviews. Most of thr companies have a general aptitude test, group discussion round, Technical and HR interview.

TCE conducts technical event called 'TECHUTSAV' which is held in every even semester. 'Quest' is an interschool competition conducted in and around Madurai. Many other cultural events like 'Shrishti', 'Renaissance' are being conducted. Personal development camps will be held. NCC, NSS, sports are present with credits. College day will be held every year. Department culturals are the most anticipated in TCE

For merit quota the fee will be around 18000. For govt aided seat the fee will be around 60000. For merit management seat the fee will be around 95000. Hostel fee is around 50000. All the fee mentioned are in terms of Per Year. There will be no donation for management seats which is the best part of this college. The college has a very good transperancy in fee-breakdown.

The scholarships are provided for first graduates, low financial status students. The college will provide the required information about how to apply for scholarships.

It's like a heaven to study in TCE. The gender ratio will differ from departments (IT, ECE has more female & Mech, Civil has more Male). College has various clubs like photography, dramaticsz dance etc. Technical clubs like IEEE, prometheans are present. There's no partiality within gender, seniority, religion, politics are any other factors. There's no ragging. TCE has a large number of labs which were implemented long years ago and still working effectively.

Hostel will be good, not very good. Food is purely veg. There will rooms in which 4 persons share a room. Hostel has all the other facilities which are basically required. The hostel has a biometric system. The hostel entering time is 9PM.

Alumni helps the college by various ways like placements and funding. Seniors interaction will be quite good

I opted mechanical engineering because it's an evergreen course and has a lot of placements and job opportunities. Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE) is the best college in South Tamil Nadu and that's what made me to choose this institution. I got a merit management seat in my college for which we have to get an application form, and we have to wait till all the government merit seats are filled in TNAU counselling and then they'll call us based on the cut off marks we have got. If we applied for a merit management seat but got seat in AU counselling itself we shall take the counseling seat and ignore the management application. I have got 193 engineering cut off and applied for merit management quota and waited till September for call. I was 1 month late when i was joining.

There are approximately 40 lecturers in mechanical department and almost all are experienced and has PHD qualification. They're very skilled in their specific areas and clear the doubts of the students well. Majority of the staffs have industry certifications
