Review as a second year student of thiagarajar college of engineering

The course curriculum is good for certain departments .the seniors who have studied here have told me that the curriculum for ECE is the best in the college as they make ECE students to study practically. The real world is bit different from what we study but the practical knowledge helps us in placements

There are some internship opportunities provided in our college but it is not offered to everyone in the college. Those opportunities are mostly awarded for 3rd year and final year students and I don't know more about these internship opportunities in our campus to be honest

The placements in the college has took a drop for the past two years to be honest . The placements are still in offer but the amount of students getting placed are not called for job as soon as they complete the degree it takes a while sometimes more than a year . The placements are said to boosted again in 2027 to 2028

The yearly fee that I pay for a merit management seat is 172000, while government aided seats pay 17500,there are many scholarships programs provided in the college like reliance etc .exam fee for each semester will be around 3000 to 5000 . The total fee will be around 175000 for management seats and for govt aided seats it will be 20000

There are many sports teams in our college and the team atmosphere is one of the best experience that you can experience in this college.i am part of the football team and the team has a great bonding with each other . The seniors in the team care for the juniors in both academics and sports . There are many clubs in our college like photo drawing and etc

The hostel facility is quite good but it has some problems too . The hostel food is a reasonable one but for the amount of mess fee the get ..the food can be better . There is no non-veg food provided. The rules in the boys hostel is not so harsh there are no rules to be honest you should be in the hostel within 9 30 pm , which is the only rule

I have chosen this college as this is one of the top engineering colleges in tamil Nadu and it has a good percentage of placements and this college has a very good opinion from those who have studied here in the past and it is also near to my hometown hence I have chosen this college

The faculty to student ratio is 3:1 . For every 30 students a tutor is assigned and the tutor conducts a meeting every week during the tutor ward hour . There are two continuous assessment tests and a semester exam for every semester
