Remarks

Position :Well infrastructured campus College is situated calm and quite place which is near to the Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary Negative : The college is situated far from thiruvananthapuram city (35KM from city centre)

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course curriculum is based on Kerala University, The course structure not muc based on research while degree course. Labs are well infrastructured and equipped with modern machines. Exams and labs are very frequent that will add some mental pressure to the students.

Placement Experience

Placement programs are conducted regularly, some placement programs are conducted within the college and also arrange nesessory arrangements to students who wants to attend interview in other institutions. In my course time college didn't provide me any internship

College Events

Technical fest - Thejomaya, Arts Fest - Rhythm, sports day, promotional show - Zion 2020. Several festivals like, onam christmas are celebrated in college. Victory celebration for the union election winners. And honours day.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees structure is designed by Kerala Technical University. Which is feasible by some extend. During my course time my yearly fees was Rs. 48700/-, Now the course fees is around Rs. 100000/- per year. (NB-fees and donation may be different for NRI students)

Fees and Financial Aid

I took educational loan from Canara Bank for fees for four years. Which was around 200000 rupees. The loan repayment was started after 6 months of completing the course. according to the government policy I got subsidy in interest which was around Rs. 225000/-

Campus Life

Good labs. Best computer labs with a/cs. There is PT sir and room but does not have a time to have sports. We get the sports time only after college working hrs which makes the student’s life difficult in sports career.

Alumni/Alumna

In Lourdes Matha College of Science and Technology alumni association is working there. Yearly I got invitation from alumni association. But I yet to attend one because of my situation. Next time I will definitely attend

Admission

I have attended Kerala state engineering entrance exam and got score. Then a government counseling process carried on, me opt convinent college and course according to above said entrance score. Then redirected me to college to pay fee and finishing admission process. If didn't get desired course or college we can opt for higher option while still in the allotted college.

Faculty

Most of the faculties are well qualified and dedicated while my course time. Laboratory assistant and facilities are cooperative and willing extra time for interested students. Mr. Carold Willson is our maths teacher in that time he is the genius on his feild.

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

Is engineering here worth it?

LMCST the GREEN CAMPUS

The admission process is really good. Students having a valid KEAM rank can get other fee reductions and get on management and merit seats. Those who don't have a valid KEAM rank can approach NRI seats. The admission procedure is like before about 1 month after the college start management and new seats can be occupied.
