Remarks
The college management is good at what they're supposed to do. They've ensured that students are all provided with good infrastructure and facilities to excel in their academics.
Entrance Preview
I took the COMED-K entrance exam. I don't remember my exact score, but I got an all India rank of 599 and that was good enough to get me a seat in MSRMC. I honestly, didn't know much about the medical colleges in Karnataka since I'm not from the state. But, when I did ask people, everyone had positive things to say about MSRMC. I also visited the campus once before confirming my seat, and I loved it. It's very fortunate that we get this amount of space in spite of the college being part of a busy city.
Internships Opportunities
I haven't yet reached internship year, so I'm not qualified to answer this question. However, from what I've heard from my seniors, internship year is busy and we learn a lot of things that we've studied first-hand.
Placement Experience
I don't think this question is entirely is applicable for an MBBS course, because we don't have campus placements. But, all graduates from our college are respected in the community and have secured themselves positions in hospitals across the country and abroad.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure differs based on which type of seat the student secured to join the college. Karnataka CET students pay around Rs 50,000 per year. COMED-K students pay around Rs, 3,70,000 per year. The management quota students pay an equivalent of approximately $ 1,50,000 for the entire duration of the course.
Fees and Financial Aid
I'm not entirely sure, but the state government of Karnataka probably has a scholarship for minority quota students.
Campus Life
Campus life is pretty laid-back. After college hours, students are free to pursue whatever pleases them, though a major chunk of that time goes into studying. The course in itself is pretty intensive and time consuming which doesn't leave much space for other activities. But the college has a brilliant basketball team who've won multiple tournaments across the country.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors in MSRMC are all friendly and warm people. They share their experiences and advice juniors on the best way to deal with a particular part of the course, whether it is a test or a cultural event. There is no ragging whatsoever. There is an active MSRMC global alumni network.
Exam Structure
We have internal assessments at the end of each semester and final university exams at the end of each academic year. Apart from these, we also have end-postings at the end of each clinical hospital posting. The schedule does get hectic, but then students end up getting used to dealing with the stress with each passing year.
Faculty
All the faculty members are extremely qualified experts of their subjects. They put in a lot of effort to make their classroom teaching effective. Some departments conduct weekly seminars where students are given a chance to present a topic in front of the whole class. It definitely helps in learning the subject better.
