Course Curriculum Overview

The course is pretty outdated with no upgradation ever proposed teaching standards are quite odd and obsolete, Though the curriculum is quite old the exam pattern has some significance the question pattern has some good questions in it which sometimes proves to be challenging. It is conducted in two forms mid-sem and end-sem.

Placement Experience

Placements are some of the best aspects of the college varying from branch to branch in quality, usually, everybody gets a placement but the quality is less most of them getting around 6 to 7 lakhs per annum.

College Events

Urja- the annual sports meet which is organized parade being the main event conducted branch-wise. Culfest-which is the cultural fest of nit Jamshedpur which attracts the majority crowd from Jamshedpur. OJASS- which is the techno-management fest also the second-largest fest in northeast India.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities are quite good and the newly constructed hostels are quite good. Also, the mega mess which serves at least 600 students at a time the food served is quite awesome with north and south India served turn by turn which poses a very excellent menu.

Admission

It started with the jee mains I prepared for it a year in Kanpur at a local coaching, I gave my exam and cleared it with a 120590 through which I got admission. Then I attended counseling and got NIT JSR IN the special round.

Faculty

Some of the faculties recruited 15-20 years are not appropriate with problems of speaking and writing but some of the faculties recruited later are awesome some of them even having international experience and expertise in teaching and methodology is excellent.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

According to my perspective or point of view students initiate preparing for placement cells in 3rd year ( 5th semester). The highest package of our college is 14 LPA And average package is 3.4 LPA. Approx 72 %students got placed in different different companies like tcs, wipro, accenture etc.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . Detailed review of nit jamshedpur

I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
