Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

For the course syllabus of all the UG level and PG level courses along with the certification course the college relies on the guidelines and instructions from the Calcutta University. As per the rules semester wise division of the program is done where whereby semester examinations are held two times in a year.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placement and job opportunities are not very good in our college. Though the Calcutta University organises job fair getting a good offer there is not possible because mostly thereare 10+2 level low paying jobs at offer. Internships are not offered for most of the Science based and other courses and in my course it is not necessary.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees of our colleges is feasible. For the the entire duration of the program the fee is less than Rs 10, 000. Annually the amount which a student is required to submit somewhere around Rs 2,300. Fore financial assistance one can look for scholarship as well.

Fees and Financial Aid

Government of West Bengal offers scholarship like the Nabanna scholarship to the students who are meritorious and are needy. Apart from that the university also offers a scholarship to the students who performed well in the academics. One can also look out for the educational loans that are on offer from the side of various banks.

Campus Life

4

Not much of extra-curricular activities or event celebrations are done in our college. However certain events like the Durga Puja festival, annual festival, National days like Republic Day are celebrated on campus. In terms of infrastructure the college is well built and has good facilities at its dispense to offer to the students.

Admission

I got admission directly in the college based on my performance at the class 12th level. I obtained 85 percentage marks in aggregate at the 10 + 2 level and based on that score I made an application in the college for admission by filling in the detailed application form after purchasing it from the counter of the reception. Once my application was accepted and documents were verified I was granted the admission.Being a popular and almost 50 years old college in our area it was a natural choice for me.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty in our department that is the Geography department is quite experienced and has the knowledge of setting question papers for various government level competitive exam including the West Bengal Public Service Commission paper. Their teaching methodology is very comprehensive and lays focus on technical understanding which is an integral part of the course.

I’d rate HIT’s placement opportunities as 7.5/10 overall. It’s very good for CSE, IT, and ECE, decent for Electrical and core branches, and improving every year with more companies visiting and better preparation programs. If you’re skilled and consistent — especially in coding, communication, and aptitude — you’ll almost certainly get placed before graduatin

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months
