It was established in 1969 under The assam agricultural university act 1968. Imparting resource conserving quality and market driven education in agricultural and allied fields is institute's main goal.

Course Curriculum Overview

Bsc in agriculture, home science, horticulture, fishery course duration 4 years. B.V.sc of duration 5 years. Msc in food technology, agronomy, soil science. MBA in agribusiness, phd course duration is of 3 years.

Placement Experience

There are many job opportunities in agricultural sector. Research, lecturership, banking, finance, HRM etc are some of the fields. The college provides 1 year internships to final year students. The college's environment is very good.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is affordable. Bsc fee is 13000 rupees per annum, msc fee is 19000 per annum, MBA fee is 77000 per annum, phd fee is 19000 rupees per annum. Hostel and mess facilities are very good. Hostel charges are also affordable.

Campus Life

Various days like sports day, teacher's day, independence day etc are celebrated every year. Many events are organized throughout the year. People from different castes and religions take admission in this college. Reservation for assam students is available.

Admission

I had given entrance exam and got admission in this college through counselling process. The admission process is smooth. One has to show the intermediate ceritficates and marksheet with required marks to complete the admission process.

Faculty

The faculty members are cooperative and helpful. They are well qualified and experienced in their respective subjects. They help the students to organize the seminars and workshops. Counsellings are also held by them.

As I m just in 1st year I have little idea ..the highest package is 12lpa and one thing is 100% intership is there ... amul, punjab national bank , federal Bank,seed companies and many more visits for on campus placement avg may be 3-4 if here is no placement in ug ..many of us will do msc or prepare for competitive exam like nabard and Ado .. placement start form 4th year .. overall 70-80% placement ratio

The new syllabus under new education policy is better which focuses on practicality.but the old one in which we are enrolled is more focused on theoretical aspects rather than practicality.
