Remarks
College management was good - would listen patiently if we had any queries or concerns. For example, the entire class was uncomfortable with one of the professors and when we raise the issue they sorted things and moved him out.
Entrance Preview
The college's own written entrance exam and personal interview. Score was not known - just that we were selected. Minimum first class in 10th, 12th and graduate course was expected as a base.
Course Curriculum Overview
Interactive, informative, practical with lots of guest lectures. Gave a good hand at theory basics and allowed plenty of classroom practicals with real world examples.
Internships Opportunities
We did not have an internship via the college as this was a PG course. But some of the professors directly picked promising interns to work with them. Salary / stipend ranged from 2k-10k in 2003.
Placement Experience
95% of the batch had jobs before the course was complete. The remaining 5% had jobs in the next couple of months. Most people were placed as juniors in ad agencies. All applied independently, not via the college. Salary ranged from 2k-10k.
College Events
Malhar was the main fest where we did not actively participate but was celebrated by the college. This is an renown event with students from all colleges participating.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It was reasonable given it was over a decade ago. Am not sure how the fee is structured presently but we had to pay a lumpsum amount for the year - no break ups
Fees and Financial Aid
No, Neither was offered by the college at that time. Loans had to be taken independently if required.
Campus Life
Campus life was multi cultural. Gave lots of exposure to people from different backgrounds. Also gave access to people from the industry. I experienced no bias as such.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni are very influential with most being well known names in the advertising industry. Think the college can introduce better efforts to bring alumni together on a yearly basis.
Exam Structure
Theory exams happened at the end of the year but we were graded all through the year for various assignments with a cumulative grade given at the end of the year. Assignments were constant and were for each professor and we had multiple professors in a month. It also included team assignments so we were on our toes mostly.
